Conseco Finance ripoff..I made a huge mistake, harassed & lied to Minnesota

I can relate to all of the above statements and would like to say that I have experienced everyone of the same harassing charges by Conseco Finance. Not only did they try to contact family members who were ill, they constantly harassed me and my family. Not only did they call me names such as a--hole, and other choice words, they also criticized me and my family. They must not understand the importance of customer satisfaction and the pain of customers relaying their stories to other consumers. If anyone would like to be called an a--hole by this company, please call Luke at 1-800-245-1340, at Ext. 129. You can also reach a Mr. Sullivan who will also give you the same courtesy. This is out of the Pittsburgh area. They are looking for more people to harass, so please call ASAP. Won't you give them your hard earned money?

Anyone who is dealing with Conseco finance, I have a suggestion for everyone. Let's try to put an end to this abusive company. I recently have done some research.

I came upon what is known as "The Abusive and Predatory Lending Act" through the Minnesota Attorney General's website. Conseco finance meets the standards listed in this act. If we all stand together we can beat them. Anyone who reads this and is in a different state, check your Attorney General's website for information or call them and find out if they have similar acts in your state. It deals with high interest rates and prepayment penalties. When I applied for the loan, yes I did most of my dealings over the phone, the reason for this, the branch of Conseco that did my loan process was in SOUTH DAKOTA I live in MINNESOTA.

Was I supposed to drive there everyday.(I added that for Tammy from St. Paul, who is also an employee of Conseco finance, who said she didn't understand why anyone would do business over the phone) And yes, like an idiot, I didn't fully read and understand the purchase agreement, however, Conseco Finance was compelled to disclose my prepayement penalty, which they did not do, and offer me another type of loan which was more satisfactory to me, again, something they did not do. Sorry this is lenghty, but after reading all these stories, I am mad and disgusted with this company.

If you look under Conseco in the net. you will find various articles that might suprise, or even scare you! I found one in particular that shocked me.



Not being able to call his name, it stated Mr. bla bla bla, formerly of Green Tree Finicial got a $45 million dollar sign on bonas several years ago! Recon what he makes an hour? How can people living pay check to paycheck even make his payroll? I'll give you a hint!



This company makes loans to people like me that was needing a new home and was so excited about the possibility of getting an easy loan quick we never saw the car coming when we stepped from the curb!



Well guess what, we may have a bad case of road rash but this company will not survive trying to kill there customers with there threats,hostal consumer help people and there scare tatics of repossion,garnisement,and telling us they will through us out in the street!



Consumers have a rights, state and federal, to protect us from rip-off companys like conseco. Paying interest and no principle is 200% profit. That's how!!!!!! . Let's don't wait till they go chapter 12!

AT first you would have thought i was dealing ((the way she acted and behavied)) with mother mary herself!! Year's later i would find out i was really working with a company not afraid to threaten you even look up your personal pass to threaten you laugh at your concerns and refuse to give out any info reguarding there company . The office i dealt with was in MILFORD CT her name was a Karen.



I agreed two be on loan for a short to help my roomate! She knew i was moving and my name WAS NOT TO BE ONJ LOAN LONGER than 3 months. Of course i got a no problem! we will kep it there just till bob payments history is good!!



I said no only three months again she left office came back and said fine on closing day we dealt with her and there lawyer!!



It has been almost 3 yrs and i got a copy of my credit report with them listing me as owning them ovwer 80,000 and in repo! I called ASAP it took almost three weeks of messages and me calling back before i finally got some one!! I was lauged at by the operator when i stated there is a mistake! they /she refused to let me speak to Karen after three day's of call's to there office i was passed to a women callked beth! i told her whats happening she again refused to let me speak to Karen yelling and RUDE as soon as she came on line stating ""i read about you in the paper and Yale and know your a sue happy nut!"" also she stated""



The only way your getting of the loan is two refinance it and it will stay on your credit report as a repo and theres nothing you can do about it!!"" calls on nove 4'2002.



I got off phone angry hurt as she had no idea what yale hospital had done to me and that the state found them guilty and it was one law suit but she knew that i was calling about my credit!! Never had someone been so nasty and openly hatefull without no fear of my reporting her!! i finally thru making 51 calls to info got there main office in sout dakota i am sending them a copy of the Quite claim that was done the women on the phone did not seem really that supportivei was stressed talking to her she acted as if i was waisting her time when she could be on a coffee break now.



Getting any answers from them is almost impossible they do not return calls and transfer you from person to person each saying i dont know that person and there is no supervisor here!!



I cant believe this is happing to me 37 and i am disabled now and yet got two awards for my help on sept 11 but to conseco i am what a friend says ""your just there pigeon to them"" I wont give up but i need outside help as its as if the hole conseco company under do not answer guestions system!!



SO i recommed never beliweve what conseco tells you about being a cosigner!! SEE i never even got any letters or calls from this AT ALL requarding this matter !!



Aways have your own lawyer there! they provide one but he is also paid by them go the extra like i should have if you have no chioce but to use CONSECO but i warn you all i have spoken to your feelings and concerns are the last things on there mind!!! ty Martin Morse Bridgeport CT

As an employee of Conseco, not in the mortgage department however, I find a common theme amongst customers. Those that are habitually late or have every form of bad luck known to man inflicted upon them, absolutely, postively hate Conseco Finance in general. Those that pay their bills in a timely fashion, let us know when their addresses have changed or those that are experiencing a hardship actually call us before we have to track them down, love us & will do business with us again in the future.



Conseco is not immune to the problems experienced by many companies with more than a hundred employees. It's hard to find employees who care about what they are doing or care about the people who are trying to get assistance. Have you tried to reach anyone at the phone company lately?



I have worked hard to get the employees who report to me to try and understand what is going on with the customer who is calling in - real life happens to everyone and empathy is in short supply. But on the other hand, the amount of abuse and venom spewed from some callers would embarass their mothers if they heard it!



Noone deserves abuse from either side of the phone. Good help is hard to find and good pay is hard to get. (I can't answer for the Customer Service department - which is more of an oxymoron but I do know there will be more English speakers available in the near future)



Why anyone would sign an agreement, any agreement, without reading the entire contract is beyond me. Why anyone would conduct a business transaction over the phone is again hard to understand. When I receive any of the hundreds of calls from companies wanting to refinance my house, consolidate my loans or re-side my already re-sided home I have found the magic solution to be simple... say "no thank you" and hang up.

They wanted to Consolidate my bills for me with a home equity loan. They courted me so to say with numerous phone calls, too many to mention. Quoting unheard of interest rates and how wonderful it would be to fix up my home, take a vacation etc.



When it was all said and done, I was locked into a loan with an outrageous interest rate 15.5% with prepay penalties and many, many hidden costs and fees. It started my financial downfall.



I now have my house up for sale. Their continued harrassment on the phone, averaging 15 calls per day between my home an my work have almost drove me to suicide. I am selling my home to get out of their contract. I would urge anyone considering a loan with Conseco Finance to run for your lives!

First I would like to STRESS Conseco's customer service IS the worst they are strongly rude and good luck finding some one you can understand their speaking abilities!!



They are so quick to give repo I lost my job explained to them job related accident they knew situation I always paid but LATE for brief time but instead of working with me helping understand I was given REPO notice 24 hours to leave I called them and my GOD the lady mary I believe?



SO mean so rude yelled at me even said she would not wait I asked for 2 days when I got my workmans comp pay she said NO 24 hours so I told her I would get money from the bank borrow but they said be next day afternoon I wired it to them. They harrased every one I knew family,boyfriend,kids,me!



My boy friend told them to quit calling him it was his cell phone cost him roaming charges etc next day they called again! I get letters saying 2nd notice when I never got the first notice. I will never call conseco ever due to their hostility making someone feel like skum!!



First time buyer never again tempted to let home go back be more worth it than to deal with such rude mean unwilling to work with you. I pay $400. month i pay $200 every 2 weeks they dont want this they want 1 payment it is money for god sakes I didn't think you could or would deny payment in any form of giving it!!



I tried to reach them in past by e-mail to inform them when payment was sent I wont talk to them good luck with the e-mail it isn't that easy they work around this so I wrote them a letter asking how to e-mail so they would know about payment totally ignored me never responded!!



You can not I tried for hours customer service etc I went to check their site to see if changed found this instead!! I know people usually dont listen once mind is set but no one told me and I wish I knew because I know word of mouth is in my favor.



Thank you sorry for long letter this is the mild part of it. Get repo no warning notice 4 children No Dr would release me to go back to work it is a very scary situation. This was all about 3 years ago so were still here still do not like conseco but I will never ever trust them yes they do lie!!!I have to agree!!
