In July of 2007, my ifance and I took vacation to Las Vegas. During our check-in at the Riviera Hotel, we were offered free Slot play and adinner if we attended a sales presentation at Tahiti Village. We were told it would only take 2 hours of our time. Naturally, we accepted and attended the presentation. We expereinced almost "circus-like" performances by their representatives during the presentation.
When we tried to leave, we were all but threatened by their staff for leaving before the allotted time had been used. We were assigned a sales representative to explain their property to us and the "concept" of Vacation Ownership. They represented to us that Tahiti Village was one of many properties owned by Consolidated Resorts. We were told that by purchasing a timesahre at Tahiti Village it would "guarantee" us use of their other properties, simply by "trading" our time. They represented only a 7 day notice would be necessary to book any time at ANY of their properties during our eligible time.
When the price was offered to us, we were not able to agree to the terms and we again attempted to leave. Their "Director of Sales", Micahel Napoli, was then "called in" to resuce the deal. Mr Napoli took us into a private office and offered us 12 "free" vacation getaways which we could use or even "sell' to offset some of the payments required. Mr Napoli also cut the price in half, as I am a texas Peace Officer, offering a "Police Officer discount" then referring to the 9/11 Terror attacks.
When we disagreed with the finance rate, Mr Napoli assured us we could have the contract refinanced by our lending institution at a later date for a better rate. This was found to be false. When we asked for time to research the "deal", Mr Napoli claimed the deal to be "time sensitive" and would only be valid during our attendance at the presentation. Mr Napoli even told us that our transportation back to our Hotel may be jeapordized if we had not reached a decision.
What was to take 2 hours almost lasted 4. Finally, Mr Napoli offered to "buy back" our property at ANY time if were not not satisfied with the purchase. Frankly, we felt "prisoners" of Consolidated Resorts during their sales presentation and our only release was to make the purchase with the feeling that if we did not, we would be left to walk miles back to our Hotel.
After an exhausting 4 hours, we were willing to do anything to get out of the presentation and the purchase was made with intentions to "return" it to Consolidated after our "release". Since I am filing this complaint, along with many others to the BBB and FTC, obviously the promises and assurances made to us were false.

I HOPE YOU LEARNED BY NOW TO NEVER GO TO ANY TIMESHARE SALE IN VEGAS.
AS A PEACE OFFICER, YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN INTIMIDATED BY THESE FINANCIAL PREDATORS. YOU SHOULD HAVE TAKEN YOUR FIANCEE AND JUST WALKED OUT. UNLESS YOU HAD HAD A FEW TOO MANY FREE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES...THEY TEND TO POUR AND POUR UNTIL YOU FEEL FINE AND THEN SIGN THE LINE.
I HOPE YOU MANAGED TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK BECAUSE THIS IS A RIP OFF.
