Consumer First ripoff - Everyone needs to know about these people who just don't care who they hurt. Tampa Florida

My daughter just turned 18 and she received a letter in the mail from Consumer First stating she could get her first credit card for no deposit down or transfer of other cards. She immediately came to me and asked if I thought this would be O.K. Unlike other offers she'd received she didn't have to put down a large deposit and give processing fees, etc.

I told her to send in her hard earned money and get herself a card. She wanted the card to help out with college course books, since it's hard for me to help her. I can't believe I gave her such bad advise. She looked to me to guide her and I failed.

I called the company after she received this so called "Platinum Card" that was not a Visa at all but a card to purchase merchandise from their catalog. The lady that answered the phone "Cathy" said that my daughter couldn't get her money back because she was past the 30 days and there was nothing I could do about it either. I was blown away by her cold and crude personality.

I couldn't understand how someone could take advantage of a child and not give it a second thought. It's not so much the money as much as it is the fact that she was counting on that card for college. I hope that no one else goes through this and I will make it my mission in life to let everyone including the media know about these people who just don't care who they hurt.
