DO NOT SWITCH TO CONSUMER TELECOM, THEY ARE A COMPLETE RIPOFF AND FRAUD. SEE BELOW: April 4, 2012

Customer Service Consumer Telecom, Inc. 701 N. Green Valley Parkway Suite 200 Henderson, NV 89014

Dear Customer Service; I am writing to complain about the long distance service provided by Consumer Telecom. I received a call on Feb 7, 2012 offering me a low cost long distance service provider from Consumer Telecom representative Anna. She said the following: 1. This was a special offer to low usage long distance customers 2. The service fee would be refunded by calling 1-800-872-3811 3.My current AT&T bill would go down by $10 a month. 4. Did I agree to the switch from AT&T to Consumer Telecom? I agreed and was prompted to record my answers on a voice recording system. I received my AT&T bill on April 2, 2012 and noticed I was charged $4.75 from USBI on 2-29-2012 (please see attached). I called Consumer Telecom and spoke to Kenny. He said that this was the monthly service fee and could not be refunded. I repeated the above conversation with Anna, to no avail. He said I would be billed for March 2012 as well. I asked to cancel my Consumer Telecom service immediately effective April 3, 2012. I asked if that would be the last charge from Consumer Telecom and he said no I would be charged for April as well.

By this time I was irate and asked to speak with his supervisor. Jose, the floor manager who told me the same thing as Kenny but did however, agree to cancel the April 2012 fee as a courtesy. I asked him about the monthly service fee to which he said, I had agreed to change companies and he then played the recording back to me. He stated the only fee that can be reimbursed is the switch over fee. I told both Kenny and Jose that what I understood from the first call on 2-7-2012 with Anna, was that I would be reimbursed the service fee by calling the 800 number and that my bill would go down by $10 a month, which it did not. Why would I agree to an extra $4.75 per month for a service I did not use (I do not use long distance on my land line phone, I use my cell phone, my land line is for ADT security service)? The only reason I agreed to switch was the reduction of $10/month on my AT&T bill, which did not happen. I was then informed by Jose that I do not have AT&T long distance? Now if this is the case why did Anna say in her call that this was a special offer to low usage long distance customers? Naturally I assumed I had long distance services with AT&T, otherwise why else would she call me? I also only agreed to the switch under the assumption that I would be refunded the service charge. Clearly I was deceived into believing both offers by Anna. Jose had the audacity to say I misunderstood everything. He insulted my intelligence. Neither Jose nor Kenny were the least sympathetic to my situation, in fact quite the opposite, during my 45 minute phone conversation I heard a person laugh out loud at me. When I asked about this, Kenny said it was not about my conversation. This I find hard to believe.

I have been duped by Consumer Telecom into switching my long distance service under false pretenses. I feel cheated and violated of my rights as a consumer. Such egregious behavior is not becoming of any company. I have been billed for 2 cycles for a charge that I was misled into believing that I would be refunded. I was conned into changing my long distance service by promises of a reduction in my AT&T phone bill which never happened. I am out raged at the rip off by Consumer Telecom. I see your company has precedent in such matters (see enclosed article). I demand to be reimbursed for the monthly services fees that I have paid for the months of Feb and March 2012. I can only hope that my service was terminated yesterday and I will not be billed for April 2012. I was told a letter to this effect would be sent to me. I have yet to receive any thing. Consumer Telecom needs to take heed of these nefarious practices by its service agents. It is precisely such scams that lead to class action suits, adverse publicity and humiliation.

What is needed is a class action suit against Consumer Telecom so that millions of subscribers that were duped by them and get restitution.
