One of our employees received a strange call from a company several months ago, we think in August. During that conversation, she got very uncomfortable and felt the a telemarketer was trying to force her into giving some type of approval. She told the caller we were not paying for anything. She was so disturbed by the call that she came to my office providing me information on a note. I placed a call myself and advised the caller that this office would be paying for nothing they had to sell just to make sure we had not been scammed. I kept that note for several months and unfortunately threw it away last week.

Today, I opened one of our telephone bills and found mysterious charges in the amount of $53.45 from "ILD Teleservices, Inc." I called the billing inquiries number. A rep took my call. The rep ( I am not using her name but I have it) stated that a person in our office (she provided a name getting the first name correct, but the last name wrong), had authorized the purchase. Bingo. I knew this was tied into the strange phone call the employee had received last August. The Rep insisted she had documentation that our employee had approved the purchase. When I questioned what exactly they were selling, she stated technical service for computers, printers, etc.

The telephone account containing the ILD charges is actually for a satellite office that we closed in June. The telephone lines were cancelled and the only charge that appears on that account is a $6.10 fee for advertising that could not be cancelled until the next yellow page book comes out. No one uses that account. The phone calls, however, are relayed to
this office.

The rep very quickly stated that she would delete the charge for September, but I would have to "write" to cancel October. After I screamed, I asked for her mailing address. She gave me a post office box number. I
asked for her physical address. She stated she could not give it out. I told her I was reporting her company to the FCC.

We have been scammed. The fee appearing on the telephone bill states:

CMS TECH SOLUT MTH FEE

I wonder why we would purchase technical services for an office we no
longer occupy. I hope someone gets these people and I hope my complaint
will assist in this process.

Apparently, if you answer the phone when this company comes calling, you will be billed for whatever they are selling. I'm very angry that I have to now
spend my time trying to clean up this scam.
