COTTMAN TRANSMISSION DOM SOL, INC JUST SAY NO TO THIS SHOP! ONE SCAM AFTER ANOTHER HERE! VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia

This story is one to tell and I want to hear it, especially if it helps you make up your mind about going here.  On 3/16/2009, my transmission went without any warning.  I had it towed to COTTMAN TRANSMISSION for repair.  I choose them because they are nationally known in multiple states, just in case I were to move.  The car was repaired under my extended warranty that I bought.  They covered $2500 and I pain $481.  I was given a 12mo/12000mi warranty.  When I got in the car and looked throught the paperwork I noticed that the mileage was recoreded incorrectly.  It reflected 600+ miles MORE than the actually odometer showed.  I went back inside and complained.  The manager told me not to worry about it.  I refused to accept this.  So, he hand wrote on the receipt an additional 6mo/6000mi. 

Then on 5/3/10, my transmission went again!!!!!  I towed it back to COTTMAN TRANSMISSION, being that I still had a valid warranty.  Now, the entire staff is new and they are refusing to honor the originial warranty.  They told me that the last manager was fired and is under investigation for scams.  Well, well, no surprise, but what does that have to do with me?  So, to make a really long story short, after calling headquarters, the BBB, the FTC, my mayor, my congressman and the news...they offered to fix the car but only if I paid for parts.  This time around I paid $553.13, they did the labor free of charge and issue me a new 6mo/6000mi warranty.  Well, I only wish that the problem stopped there.  The receipt they gave me is BOGUS!!!  It was made on a computer but someone not so smart.  The receipt doesn't have my car info (VIN, make, model, yr) no address for the company they used as their parent company (DOM SOL, INC) and get this at the bottom of the receipt they misspelled warranty wrong!!!  So, I have had the car one day and I notice that is does not drive the same, it is rough sliding into 2nd.

So, meanwhile, my lawyer is working on this case as we speak.  PLEASE spread the word, do NOT go to COTTMAN TRANSMISSION ever, anywhere!
