Last year my husband was layed off, when he filed for unemployyment due to an internal error at the EDD office unemployment was not received for 3 months. Our home feel behind all the while I was in constant contact with Countrywide. we sent in a payment as soon as the unemployment started and did not miss any payments from March thru September 2008 .well I repeately asked for a workout program and was told to send in 2-payments. we did then the following month countrywide placed us in forclosure.
Since Septemeber they refused to accept any payments and to date 12/15/08 we are still waiting for a program of some kind to keep our home. I have left many messages with the person that is handling our account without any call back, each and everyday I worry myself because of the unknown, I have run out of energy to keep begging for help from this company.
How can this happen in america, how can a company do this at a time like this and get away with it. There has been so much between Countrywide and myself that there is not enough room here to explain all the situations that have transpired between my mortgage company and myself in trying to save our home.
No matter what their request was I did it only to find that nothing has been done at the countrywide side. Their reason why they can not call me back is if they call me back it will delay the work out program. All I want is keep my home so I can keep my family together and safe.

SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED TO ME

You are absolutely right and I feel for you. I am in the same exact situation!!!! They forced us into foreclosure. One of their reps. named Daniel told me that they were going to make money on my house when the market improves!!!!! So Countrywide has received billions in our taxpayer money, which is why they are forcing people into foreclosure by means of lying, misrepresentation, and fraud, so that they will make double the profit on your home. ie; government bailout and recoup of market. Also, just so you know, Countrywide does not participate in the HOPE program even though they received billions from the government!!!! Good luck, I am fighting for my home to the bitter end!

Call the Hope Program

I am so sorry this happened to you. This is just awful. We did a loan modification thru the HOPE program. You can find them thru 1-800 Hope or something like that. Check them out online. Maybe they were a little more accountable b/c someone was watching? It still was a very difficult experience having to jump thru 10,000 hoops before getting a modification. The loan modification docs do not say that the modification will be void if we are late, it says the same terms as our original loan applies (that is you have grace period, etc.). They still ruined my credit by charging $30.00 towards a pay off amount report to our account so everytime we paid our mortgage, it showed we were 30.00 short and 30 days late for 6 mos (every month they would apply $30.00 of my payment to last months payment to make up for this $30.00 charge they never asked me to pay). Such geniuses. Wait, so I guess they thought I was late those 6 mos and still didn't void my modification. Wonder why you were treated differently. Maybe the HOPE program is the way to go. Maybe Countrywide does their own modifications but theirs are worse than thru the HOPE program? I don't know, doesn't make sense that you would have a crappier loan after modification and that they just voided the first one etc. CAll the HOPE program, maybe you can fix the situation. Good luck, I wish the best for you and your family.
