Country wide home loans is attempting to rip me off. Since January 1st they have been aplling late fees to payments sent via western union. They have also lost 650.00 and claim that I owe for the month of Feb. None of the reps seem to know where the money is yet they want me to pay again. This was not brought to my attention until 4/15/05.

Nasienka,
Call Senator Carl Levin's office in Detroit MI. immediately, ask for Gina Dusseau. 313-226-6020
Send a letter with the details of your complaint, all must be in writing before they can proceed.
Senator Carl Levin
477 Michigan Ave.,Suite 1800
Detroit, Mi. 48226

Then go to www.michigan.gov/ofis and file a complaint with Department of Consumer and Industry Services, Office of Financial and Insurance Services, they oversee the mortgage industry. You should print off the form and mail it to Lansing along with copies (keep all originals)of all supporting documents!

Countrywide will HAVE to respond within 20 business days of reciept of notice from the government! Make sure you ask in your complaint for a complete breakdown of "proof of debt" and payments you have made, be sure to include your account/loan number.
Go to www.FTC.GOV and file a complaint on-line.
Don't back down, you've got laws to protect you, you just need to know what they are and how to get answers! God Bless!

P.S. Do you have a lawyer? Let me rephrase that, Do you have a GOOD lawyer? It might be a good idea to ask he/she about RESPA, Real Estate Settlements Procedure Act and Fesral Trade Commission Act 15 U.S.C. sec. 41-58 on Consumer Protection.
