countrywide periodicals inc Outrageous Claim That I Owe Them Money! viginia beach Virginia

 i have a serious complaint. I feel as i am getting scammed. I have never heard of this company before today and they sent a letter stating i owe them about $800. I do not understand how that is possible when i have never purchased anything from them. I am extremely worried because they state in the letter that they are going to a collection agency and it'll go on my credit score as a negative feedback. I really want this resolved and taken off. I know i do not owe anything. I live in MA, they are in Virginia. How in the world could I have bought anything from them?? Also the letter is dated back to the 9th of January, I am just recieving this today on the 21st of January. If this was a real bill or collection, wouldn't I have recieved this much sooner. I definitely think this is a scam and I refuse to pay them. I would like to know how I can handle this and get them to stop saying that I owe them money that I do not. They said I used a card for it, but I am not one to put my information through anything over they phone. I do use websites, but this is not one I have ever used.
