Crate Furniture.com, Homespun Fashions Given the Runaround! Owed Money for over a year! Saint Petersburg Virginia

On April 4, 2007 we ordered replacement cushions for our furniture. We were told 6-8 weeks. After waiting for several months for the product to arrive we contacted the company. All we would get was a recording. We left numerous messages. Finally a recorded message called me to say my order was in production and would arrive in 6 - 8 weeks.

6-8 weeks later we still had no cushions. Again we tried to contact the company. All we got was a recorded message. We finally left a message to cancel the order and asked for our money to be returned. We got another recorded message to say we would be given a credit on our credit card. We are still waiting to this date. We never got the credit. We have faxed the company, e-mailed, and continued calling about our money.

In February of 2008 we received a letter from the owner of the company Mark McCracken saying that his supplier went out of business and he is sorry, but at this time he couldn't refund our money because he didn't have it. This business took $1000.00 from me and never gave me any product. All I got was aggravation. We were supposed to be on a list to get our money as soon as he could give it to us. It is now July of 2008 and still no money.

We have contacted the Better Business Bureau in Virginia which they then handed it off to Consumer Affairs who then got the Attorney General's office involved.

We have given them close to $1000 and yet they are still conducting their business!?!?

We have given them money for a service that has never been received. How are we protected as the consumer for something we paid out of pocket over 15 months ago?
