A week ago their credit card arrived here, yesterday their statement arrived. They say I owe them 75$ and my interest rate is 23.90%. I will probably have to pay the 75$ before the account can be closed

Let me get this off my chest first - The "$" is placed before the numerals in America when you write a dollar amount, not after the number.

It is very disrespectful of our culture to chose to ignore our written format because you prefer to use the format from your country of origin. I understand that there is a learning curve for the language. However, this is an issue of format only and not difficult to learn. When you use the improper form, your report loses its impact.

As to the $75 fee for the credit card it is clearly indicated in the Terms and Conditions of the card. Don't sign up for anything without reading the contract first; and the terms and conditions are the "contract" under which you agree to accept the credit card. I don't work for the company, but I have learned to understand the terms before accepting any offer from anyone.

If you choose to not pay the $75 it will end up on your credit report along with a bunch of other fees. So ultimately it is in your best interest to read the terms required to properly cancel the card right away so you don't get hit with a bunch of fees and a bad tradeline on your credit report.
