I'm weary about anyone who calls my cell phone and tells me I have won BIG! They always follow with, "You don't need to buy anything!". Yeah, right. These people are usually calling from out of the country and very difficult to understand.
I was pollite and said that I didn't recall entering any contest for a trip to Vegas or Florida, but he insisted that I won. I continued to disagree with him and said, "Thanks, but no thanks. Bye."
Sure enough, he called back 3 minutes later. "Miss X, you really did win. This is not a scam. Please tell me, would you like to go to Vegas or Florida for free?"
At this point, I was frustrated. He told me next that I needed to give him my personal VISA number so that the funds could be transfered into my account to pay for daily expenses on my "free" trip. I refused to give him anything.
Next, I told him to leave me alone and that I forfeit my prize. "Give it to someone else! I don't want it. Period! Take me off your call list please."
I thought the harassment was over until I got a letter in the mail.
This said, "Miss. X, We are trying to reach you with Good News! We tried to reach you at (xxx) xxx-xxxx (cell number). Your deadline has expired but we have temporarly extended it. It is very important that you call us Toll Free at: 1-800-449-3596. Your Pin Number is: 3xx0xx72xx
Thank you,

This was a generic letter that is probably sent out in bulk. There was no date on it or personal phone number, just a toll free one. Also, they didn't know my apartment number on the letter, so that was also wierd.
Don't trust these scam artists. You didn't win anything except deceptive lies and tricks to steal your hard earned money. Be careful and don't give them information to work on. Just tell them "No".
