  • Cross Country Van Lines 65 Railroad Avenue BLD #5 Ridgefield, New Jersey U.S.A.

Cross Country Van Lines I recently moved from New York to Arizona. My furniture sat in New Jersey for over 2 weeks before they even moved it out West. World Moving Co. let me know that I would receive my furniture & clothes by April 1. They promised the weight sheet from an official weight stop. I never received that. Picked up my belongings on 3/24/08 & I got my stuff on 4/1/08. They promised that the movers put my box Ridgefield New Jersey

I moved from NY to AZ. I was mislead and did not know that the job gets contracted out. I went thru World Moving Co. Cross Country Van Lines did the actual move. I was extremely disappointed. They arrived 3 hours earlier than they said, so I was not all packed when they arrived. I had to leave a lot of my belongings behind. They arrived 3/24 & WMC said my stuff should be there no later than 4/3. I took a flight on 4/1 & my apt. was ready to move-in. CCVL did not arrive until 4/12/08 @ 3 p.m. I had no furniture or clothes for 2 weeks. Not only that, my wall unit was extremely damaged and I told them to just give me half the value. I can not use the wall unit. I filled out the claim forms and I call every week & no one answers the claims dept. or returns my calls. Also, the mover just dropped my boxes in the living room & left. He kept telling me, I am just the driver. WMC assured me that all I had to do was sit back and they would put all the boxes & furniture in their respective rooms. I had to get stern with the driver. He was going to not assemble the 2 beds. I was mortified and angry. I have 2 young daughters & I spent a lot of extra money for the first 2 weeks I was in a new state not knowing anyone. It is the end of May and I have not received any further information regarding the destruction of my wall unit. The way that stuff was packed on the truck is a travesty. They want the money right away. World Moving Co. gets the deposit(unbeknownst to me when I was making the arrangements) so they could care less what happens to your stuff. I had no idea that this job gets contracted out until they had my deposit. They are very misleading. I also had my auto shipped and I had no problem with that contractor.
