I Joined Custom Built Personal Training at the YouFit Health Club in Tampa, FL.  The manager that signed me up was wearing a YouFit shirt and I later found out that CBPT was a separate company.  While I was reading the contract the manager kept asking me questions about my diet, previous training, sports injuries and other questions that kept me from reading the fine print.  He did not tell me I had a (3) day recission period to change my mind.  I read the contract the next day and learned that I had to send a written letter by certified mail to the Home Office in Atlanta, GA if I wanted to terminate my contract.  There was not enough time.  My fitness intent was to meet a trainer the same day each week.  The manager made my first appointments and they were cancelled due to my first trainers schedule conflicts.  I quickly learned that all the trainers were Part Time.  All of my trainers that I did meet showed up just in time for my training and were unprepared.  They didn't review my chart, check my progress, and they didn't post anything about their schedules on the CBPT website.  The CBPT website is mismanaged.  When you select a trainer you can choose an open time slot but this might be different than the trainer's "Real Schedule".  I quickly got calls from trainers to cancel my appointment because it conflicted with their real world schedule.  When the manager scheduled me with another trainer they did not read my chart or learn about my physical limitations and personal goals.  One trainer kept asking me to perform some exercises that were in violation of my medical conditions.  Their website is flawed in that it will let you schedule a training session but you later learn that the trainer either is overbooked or has time conflicts.  Even the manager scheduled me training sessions that were later cancelled. The bottom line is that it is really hard to get on a training routine when they keep cancelling your sessions.  Making contact with CBPT is difficult.  Every letter must be sent by certified mail.  This is expensive and time consuming.  Even though they had my email address they never made any contact.  I had to keep calling them after I sent certified mail letters.  When you do call them they are unapologetic.  They seem like they have heard so many complaints that they really don't care.  I sent them a letter expressing my concerns with their company and they never responded.  (More Problems)  After I decided to terminate my contract I learned I had to pay a Whopping $250 termination fee.  This was written on the contract I signed.  I mistakenly assumed they would credit me for all the cancelled appointments I had and also the appointments that were still on my contract.  I was wrong.  You will get no credit for anything and will also have to pay $250 just to escape this company.  I closed out my credit card that I was using to pay and sent them a certified letter with a personal check to terminate my contract.  I never got a response letter and called them again.  They verified receipt of my letter and when my check cleared they sent me a final email.  There was never an apology for anything.  I am glad that I closed out my credit card because they tried to charge me for $250 on three occasions but were unable to complete the transaction.  My advice to anyone choosing to do business with CBPT is to "Run Away" quickly.
