Last month I received an advertising circular in the mail. It was titled "Pit Stop Savings Days" and contained several coupons for Ford Service and Parts. The back of the circular contained the name of the dealership, their address, phone number and hours of operation.

When I presented the coupons to the Service Advisor, he refused to honor them claiming that the circular was published by Ford Corporate without their permission. I understand that the cost of goods and service is higher in Hawaii but they wanted to charge almost twice the amount on each coupon. For example there was a coupon for wiper blades for $19.95 includung installation. They wanted to charge over $33.00.

It seems like the dealership is blaming Ford Corporate and Ford Corporate is blaming the dealership. I think we should determine who is responsible for the false advertising. if it is the dealer, then they should honor the coupons. if it is Ford Corp., then they should cease immediately.

Cutter Ford in Aiea - Simply Unprofessional

AUTHOR: Hawaii Resident - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 08, 2007

Hey Jeffm,

Sorry to hear of your unpleasant experience at Cutter Ford in Aiea. I too encountered bad customer service at this same location.

About a year ago, I was in the market to purchase a pre-owned late model SUV. I saw one advertised in the local paper and stopped by for a test drive. Mind you, I even called ahead to make sure the vehicle was still available and confirmed it was on the lot since the price was quite reasonable.

After I got there, they could not even locate the vehicle. I wasted over an hour of my time while they checked their inventory on the computer. They assured me that it was here and to hang out for awhile while they made some calls. Turns out the car was off-site being repainted due to scratches to the paint. I complained to the manager letting him know how disgusted I was. All he did was take my name and number and attempted to sell me a more expensive vehicle.

No sooner did I drive off the lot, I received a call on my cell by their marketing department. She wanted to see how my auto shopping experience was. I responded by telling her "you've got to be kidding...I will never, ever buy a car from your dealership" and hung up.

Fortunately, I was able to locate the same make/model/color vehicle at another lot and purchased it on the spot.
