CyberPower ripoff defrauded Baldwin Park California

On October 18, 2004, I bought an expensive gaming computer ($3859.55) from Cyberpower, Inc., Baldwin Park, California. In early October, 2005, the computer went completely blank, and would not work.

After several phone calls and a lot of negative response from Cyberpowers customer service, they agreed to give me an RMA to return the defective machine to them for repair. I sent it back on October 17, 2005 (within the one-year warranty agreement they have on the back of their invoice).

After waiting 3 weeks with no response, I called the company and spoke with 3 different service people who where rude and uncooperative. They finally told me the computer would be repaired and returned the next day, and, they would confirm this via e-mail. I did not receive the email, nor did they ship the computer.

I called back after three days and was told that they could not get the part due to the manufacturer no longer produced the cpu unit needed to fix the machine.

After numerous calls and my threat to file suit, they shipped the computer and it was received by us on 11/25/05. When we plugged it in, it would not even start. It was exactly like it was when we shipped it back to the company. We now have a $3859.55 computer that will not work.

This company should be put out of business because of its practice of defrauding the public. Not only are they rude and abusive, but, their warranty on the back of their invoice is not worth the paper on which it is written.

Why can't companies such as this be closed by the government? Isn't someone looking out for the consumer? They are irresponsible and ultimatly ripping off the public. Since this happened, I have read numerous reports on the internet advising the public about this fradulent company. It is time some law firm has the guts to file a class-action lawsuit!
