Daniel Schmitt & Co. Classic Car Gallery Cheated on ´74 C0rvette Convert. Purchase St. Louis Missouri

For Schmitt´s, Jon Sherman stated to me that they have been in business for about 40 years and have less than a half dozen complaints

I´ve counted about 5 other rip-off reports on this site alone....

I´m wondering if Daniel Schmitt and Company should be investigated for Internet Fraud, or Wire Fraud because there seems to be somewhat of a paper trail going back at  to 2009 (I ask, what about all those years prior?)

I for one will gladly enjoin any class action, to recover my losses, in regard to this company and it´s Shady Practices!

As with other trusting people like myself, I was taken to the cleaners by these Low Life Scammers

WARNING: DO NOT DEAL WITH DANIEL SCMITT & COMPANY!

It´s bout 3 weeks since talking to Jon Sherman salesman for Daniel Schmitt with no return call from him on the staus of the buy-back of my car at a lesser price. As I had offered it back to them for $22,500.00, having paid them $27,000.00 for the car. I called him and another salesman there told me Jon would return my call the next day. He did not!

When I called back the day after, Jon Sherman said he had talked with his ¨Boss¨and said they would only consider taking the ´74 Vette back in on consignment. Only after prompting did he admit that there would be costly fees for that service, and there were no guarranties Since I had already dropped the price I wanted to recover for the car by about $5,000.00 I told him that was impossible.

This whole deal was a scam from the beginning, in that upon first phone contact with Daniel Schmitt & Company I was required by Jon Sherman to put a deposit of $2,000.00 on my Mastercard, to hold the car for my inspection.(Later Jon told the $2,000.00 was non-refundable if I didn´t buy th car)

Then he emailed me papers to sign and send back which turned out to be an agreement to purchase, upon which I inserted the words ¨upon inspection¨(which he told me was meaningless)

I felt preasured by Jon because of the deposit situation and because they were able to keep me from seeing the frame damage through use/positioning of hoist pads I had no out and felt obligated to take the car. (1picture of 2 in original report)

It´s Dealers like Daniel Scmitt & Company in St Louis, who give the whole car sales industry a black eye with their sleezy, underhanded way of doing business.

In regard to the problems with the 1974 Corvette Convert. I purchased from Dan Schmitt Classic Cars, I should have inserted in the original article that I never even attempted to contact them about my concerns, in order to give them a chance to rectify the problems one way or the other..

I thought that because of the time passage and not knowing what to do about this issue I couldn´t do anything, until I stumbled upon this Ripoff Report site and proceeded to write.....

Within 2 days the seller´s Salesman Jon contacted me to voice his company´s dismay of my not first giving them a chance to try and make things right.

He said that he would talk to the owner of the company about possibly ??? buying the car back....though they ARE NOT HAPPY that I went this root.

Soooo I wait and see?????
