I was hired by Roberto Davis at a certain freelancer outsourcing community to write articles for $90. The project started June 25, 2009 and ended July 30, 2009.

The articles were submitted via email to Danielle K. Davis, Roberto's wife/partner in the business. After submitting a notice that all the articles have been submitted and that the project has been completed, Danielle and Roberto promised to send payment by August 03-04, 2010.

No payment has been received at that day. Numerous e-mails and reminders have been sent but there was no reply. This is when I started to think that I got scammed. So I made use of the Internet to search about Danielle and Roberto and see if I can find other information to validate my hunch.

I found several other email addresses that Danielle and Roberto used. I tried to send notifications about the pending payment to those email addresses and fortunately, Danielle replied. But note that I have received a reply only to the email I sent at the new address I found on the web. They never replied to any of the emails I sent to the address they first used (the one they used during hiring).

I told Danielle that I am giving them a chance to settle the matter. They were able to send Partial payment amounting to $20 last December 21, 2009 and another $10 last January 17,2010. No other payment has been received after that. I have sent again a number of reminders and Danielle promised that payment will be made by week of February 9th. This is the last week of February 2010 and they still owe me $60.

The amount may not be that big but hardwork and sense of responsibility put to the project is priceless. I can no longer be patient and understanding as it has been seven months since I've finished the project and the payment due to me has never been completed. There were lots of excuses and promises and delays.

If I did not do the research and send reminders to their different e-mail addresses, they would never take action. It seems that they do not have the initiative to settle transactions and handle obligations responsibly.
