Dawn Rochelle Productions, Miss Latina World Big time scam! Please stop this person Mckinney Texas

Miss Latina World 2008 sued Dawn Rochelle d/b/a Dawn Rochelle Productions in 2009 in Bexar County for fraud after she did not receive her $25,000 scholarship as promised. She won that lawsuit and then went to trial in May of 2014 in federal bankruptcy court, so she could prove the judgment was awarded to her because Dawn Rochelle committed fraud. In July of 2014 she won that case too. These two court cases are all public. 

I was the 2005 Miss Congeniality title holder for the 2005 Miss Latina World pageant. Everything that was posted in the original message regarding the 2005 and 2006 competition is true. I know this because the 2005 pageant was SO bad that the girls actually bonded over survival tactics and saw one another as friends and not competition. A core group of us stayed in touch after the competition due to the strong bonds that we formed in the ordeal. As Miss Congeniality, I did not receive ANYTHING. Not a sash, crown, plaque, NOTHING, except that my name was called as Miss Congeniality and I stepped out from the crowd for 5 seconds for a moment of recognition. While I cherished the bonds that were created with the other girls, I hope that something is done so that she is not allowed to continue to rip off young Latina girls looking for their "big break". 

Here is the rundown:

2002 - Winner: Amy Diaz
- the USA rep...we will leave her as initals J.M who was in Miami confirmed that Diaz left because of none receipt of prizes, who was then replaced by Arlene.

2003 - Winner: Jessica Jordan (Representing Bolivia)
- Jessica does not have contact with Dawn and was a professional model prior to the pageant. Jessica has gone on to do great things on her own.
- Girls were caught smoking on the hotel grounds and remained in the pageant - which was strictly prohibited in the rules and regulations book.
- Hairstylists and MUA's were students
- That year, the event was held in Miami at the Rooney Palace. Dawn was confronted by business owners and sponsors on the final day of the event demanding they know what happened to their money. Dawn fainted in the room.

2004 - Winner: Sendeliz Gibbs (Representing Curacao)
Sendeliz won in Las Vegas. Dawn had no sponsors that year, nor was any promotion done for the event. Sendeliz came from Curacao with her national director A.R. All promotional work was done by her national director and she did nothing with Dawn.
-For the following year's event, Sendeliz openly spoke about the fact that she did not get her prizes to the delegates. That year her national director also did not show up, nor did he send another winner. Sendeliz came in person to collect her prizes. It was decided after she spoke to the girls that she should be kept away from them.

2005 - Winner: Scarlet Obadia (Representing Georgia)
Scarlet won in San Antonio. That year contestants were not fed or given ample water to drink which resulted in the dehydration and passing out of a contestant. Contestants quickly banned together and confronted Dawn - which resulted with her disqualifying them (3 girls), 5 others packed their things and left also.
- Curacao officially resigned as national director to MLW
- USA winner Diana Cabrerra boycotted the event because she did not get her prizes.
- As a result of not having enough national contestants it was decided that the Miss Latina USA and Miss Latina World contestants would be put together to compete. So there was Canada, Colombia, Puerto Rico etc. in the same level as Washington, California, Delaware etc. This decision was made on day 2 of the event and the contestants were only notified that day.
- Audience consisted of approximately 20 people

2006 - Winner: Karla Lopez
Karla won this event in Dallas, Texas.
- Colombia officially refused to send a national winner
- The VP of the organization learned that nothing had been done for the event at all prior to 2 weeks before the national event. The VP was also the New York state director, and she officially gave up her state directorship
- No events were planned for the girls, as well as no meals (except one Brazilian restaurant that served appetizers.
- Scarlet was kept from the other delegates, and only asked to come the day before the final event so that she would not discuss the fact that she had done nothing with Dawn or that she did not receive her prizes.
- Dawn advertised that her co-host would be telenovela star Mauro Mercado - she never had him to begin with and hosted the event alone.
-Scarlet was promised a scholarship at the New York Film Academy in New York, and that was all that she wanted - the deal with the New York Film Academy never came through.
- Scarlet did not want to speak at the final event because she had nothing to talk about -but did end up going out when they asked for her. TMarie, the teen winner also confirmed that there were no prizes aside from an event that was organized by the VP of the organization... NOT Dawn.

2007 - Winner: Milena Fernandez (Kansas)
- MLW VP resigns from her position, unable to handle what she was seeing happening
- The event date changed 3 times from July to September to October, with 2 weeks advance notice to the October date.
- Milena wins in Las Vegas
- Canadian reps and directors are a no show, citing date changes as the problem
- Ecuador does not send a rep, nor does the past winner appear to hand over the title
- Participant rate drops from 45 to less than 30.
- Dawn has no sponsors, and received assitance from her directors.

Currently: Kansas director resigns from MLW citing that she no longer has anything to do with any other event, and should not be mistaken for that.
-Dawn still shows links on her site to Ecuador and Kansas/Missouri

I believe every accusation being made against Dawn. I participated back in 2003 not in the Latina world but in the Miss Latina USA pageant and it was complete chaos. apparently it was the first time the pageant was being held in Las Vegas and it was completely disorganized.

I held fundraisers in my local area to help pay for any fees to get into the pageant. My director also paid for me to have a "modeling class course" that was being held by Dawn. You will laugh when you hear this. This modeling course was held in her hotel room and took place in the hall way of the hotel room. we practiced walking up and down the hall. That was about it! there was someone in the room we got to meet and "interview with. they were supposely from Telemundo. Not all girls participated or could afford to participate in this course and were not interviewed by telemundo.

we were told that the day after arriving and meeting would be our evening gown portion of the pageant. Guess what....it was the day we arrived. none of us were prepared. half of us did not have time to do our hair or makeup. it was ridiculous. i think they fed us once, subway subs! i was smart and had stopped at a store to buy snacks incase i got hungry. i shared the majority of my snacks with many other participants who were hungry. i paid to have a copy of the dvd made and never ever received the dvd or refund. one girl had her hairstylist come in the back while everyone else was left to fend for themselves.

also, at that time, dawn was holding a photographer contest....well one girl's father supposely entered and was allowed to follow us everywhere, but you know all he did was take pictures of his daughter. it was completely not fair!! none of our parents were allowed anywhere near us but he has special privilages.

Everyone can make excuses and say that only sorry losers post bad comments but im not a sorry loser. everything is a life experience and this taught me how nasty and evil people can really be. i was so glad the girl who won got the titled bc she was a sweet individual and deserved it. i did meet the past winner and she told me that she did not receive any of her prize money as of that date. i was relieved to hear i didn't win, because i think it is harder to win and to be led on and get nothing in the end. Just believe it is karma coming around to catch up.

In reading the different reports here, the complaints from these obviously frustrated participants do NOT center around who won but what was received for the monies paid.

Miss Brazil clearly is NOT upset about not placing in the top 5, but rather what she and her fellow contestants got (or did not get) for their money. Any consumer is right to demand a refund if unsatisfied with any product or service they were sold. And Miss Brazil has a lot of credibility because she is publicly voicing her complaint under her own name and not an alias. She even posted her contact information but it was deleted as policy by this website.

The complaints are very specific as to what was advertised and offered to contestants that they did NOT receive and represented thousands of dollars spent for something far lesser than what they were told they were purchasing. None take issue with the winners per se, but rather with the questionable competition and judging process itself that gave the impression of a predetermined outcome. The "perception" of an unbiased and fair competition is as important or more so than the end results themselves, and judging from the reports here, that was missing big time throughout this event.

Miss Brazil and all those who feel they were ripped-off can and should file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General, who is responsible for consumer fraud. It costs nothing and can be easily done online. This may be the best recourse available under the circumstances and, with enough complaints, an investigation could be started that might put an end to this apparently ongoing problem.

Let's get real people. These reports and comments are so silly. Really. It's a pageant, that's it. Who cares?

I know Dawn. She's a nice person, she's well known and there are always losers that try to bring down those on top.

Here's the truth about some of those incorrect comments people posted:

FYI Dawn changed her named from Ramos to Rochelle because she got divorced. Haven't any of you ever know people to change their name after a divorce?
If she were really trying to fool you why would her photo be on everything?

FYI Dawn sued the Miss America Latina Pageant for posting lies about her, like you people are doing now. And guess what?? She WON!!!! Why? because getting online and posting lies about people is wrong.

FYI Jessica Jordan and Dawn are very good friends. You can easily find online many interviews and videos where Jessica says Dawn is the one that started EVERYTHING for her. Not only that but ask any of the other hundreds of girls that Dawn has helped throughout the years. Ask Dawn's assistant Marcy. She was a runaway and Dawn helped her. Can Miss Brazil say that? Has she ever helped anybody? Or just spent her time writing hateful lies about others? She's 35 and still thinks she can win!

FYI There has never been any evidence of anyone not receiving what they were promised. It's all just a bunch of rumors.

FYI There are photos and videos posted of the pageant everywhere. Hell, it's all over the news. It sure does look like a beautiful show to me. I saw it in person twice. Can't fake that.

People, think for yourself. Don't waste your time with complaints from disgruntaled wanna be beauty queens and their mothers that wish they could still do a pageant so instead they send their kid.

Do something good for yourself and others.

I'm truly saddened by all of this. Unfortunately the MAJORITY of the complaints being posted are true. At least to my recollection.

All of the girls that participated in this pageant are beautiful girls both inside and out. I had a lot of fun meeting all of the girls and enjoying their company and input. Just really sad that all of this was not what we all hoped it could've been.

Miss Brazil, I know you're angry and you have all the right to be - I am too. But in my DEFENSE as Miss Latina Dominican Republic, I just want to let everyone know that I did NOT have my own "make-up artist or hairstylist" ... my mom is a cosmetologist and she was allowed to come backstage to help everyone out- including me, of course - due to the "LACK OF" MUA & HD. My mom DID NOT get paid and she DID NOT come prepared to DO FULL make-up or hair (as others did)... and my mom did what she could for ANYONE that NEEDED and WANTED her help in that short period of time. She did NOT focus on me - and other contestants can vouch for that. I give my mom all the credit in the world for stepping in to help out the contestants in such a short notice. It bothers me that I was put in a bad light by Miss Brazil for trying to bring someone along to help.

Furthermore, I EVEN tried to get one of the make up artists to help with the make up - but they never came to OUR dressing room, so I did my own. I'm a 27 year old woman - trust me, I can do my own makeup by now. But Miss Brazil is absolutely right, if there WASN'T going to be a make-up artist or hairdresser designated to ALL the contestants, for the competition to have been "fair" ALL of us should've done our own make up... like the majority had to do since there wasn't going to be a make-up artist for all... or they should've then allowed one person per contestant backstage. So I do understand where the frustration comes in.

And in regards to the Dominican judge... trust me, we've never seen that woman in our lives. And I don't even remember seeing her during the interviews - we didn't even know who the judges were at that time!! I SURELY did not sit with her and had DRINKS! and since my mom was THE ONLY family member I had there... no one was sitting in the front row for me.... I was a victim too!! I'm hurt by your comments about me Miss Brazil, but I know you're a good person and now you can e a little clear about where I stand.

Regardless, I'm going to make the best out of my experience - now I know better for next time. I hope all the girls that participated with me in the pageant continue to follow their dreams. DON'T LET this one event shatter your future - let this be your MOTIVATION to become STRONGER. Bigger and better things will come, just become more AWARE!

Reading all of the comments I wanted to let you know that all of the things that everyone is saying are absolutely true.

This year of delegates have not faced anything new in terms of the treatment and financial losses as all of you have. If you are able to locate past delegates from her pageants you should contact them and speak to them about their expereinces. Fighting the battle together is the best way because 1 on 1 it will be very difficult unless you are financially capable.

Here are some of the facts about Miss Latina World:

- Miss Latina World actually started in 2003 and was held in Florida. Ms. Warner's then buisness partner was the person who helped put this pageant on the map. Ms. Warner was confronted by buisness persons in the Florida area who wanted to know why she had not lived up to promises that she had made to them.

- Miss Latina World has NEVER been aired on Telemundo - that is completely false. Please contact Telemundo for more information, they will be able to let you know this information.

- Miss Latina World lost its Oregan state director to the Miss Latina USA pageant due to her unprofessionalism and inability to treat her directors as people of business.

- Miss Latina World losts its Florida state director to the Miss Latina USA pageant due to her false promises,

- Miss Latina World lost its Curaco national director for the winner of Miss Latina World failing to recieve her prizes.

- Miss Latina World lost its New York state director due to her constant lies and false promises.

- Miss Latina World lost its Ecuador national director due the fact that the Miss Latina World winner failed to receive her prizes.

- The Miss Latina Canada directors failed to show up at this year's event.

- The Miss Latina World winners never make any appearances - she does not schedule anything for them. The only appearances they ever make is if they go do it themselves or if they had a director who was willing to push the international win.

-If you are able you should try contacting her past winners to see if you are able to contact them about whether or not they received their prizes.

- Jessica Jordan - the winner she promotes all over her website, attained her success from nothing that Dawn Warner did. Jessica got all of that work herself, and was a successful model with Ford Elite before she entered into Miss Latina World.

-Dawn Warner has a long list of directors she has worked with that have left her on bad terms. She always has an excuse about why they left, but should you contact any of her past directors to try and talk to them about Ms Warner, than you will actually find out she has quite a long history of not living up to her promises.

- Many directors and contestants have paid for DVD's and other "products" that she claims to sell and have never sent the products through. She has stolen this money from contestants and directors without even batting an eye, and then magically disappears off the planet - not responding to any forms of attempt to contact.

-If you search "Miss Latina" on this site you will see the long list of complaints lodged against her company. She went from Dawn Ramos Productions, to Dawn Warner Productions to Dawn Rochelle Productions.

- Ms Warner had a dispute with the Miss America Latina Organization that was documented in the media. You can find out more by searching their names or by contacting the other organization (I am not advocating for the other pageant, because they are also full of problems).

- All of you are entirely correct that Dawn will use photos of your "good times" at the events as a method to encourage other young girls to enter her pageant.

- This organization is truly worth an investigative report. All of you should be contacting your local and state media. Unless this organization is exposed she will not only take your money and disappear as contestants, but she will also do that to future persons interesting in working with her and local, state, or national directors.

The information is out there, and it is easily accessible. Most people do not go ahead with the work that is involved in compiling evidence against the organization. Your only successful and valid method is rounding up a number of people - and believe me there are many out there who have experienced what you have.

Miauk is right in her post that "THIS COMPANY WILL CHANGE THEIR NAME AGAIN." It happened sooner than later.

Recruiting for the 2008 event on the Miss Latina World website shows the new company name now as DAWN AND CO...all the same person--"Dawn Warner," "Dawn Ramos," "Dawn Rochelle." It begs the question if it is really a "company" -- incorporated or with a business license to operate under any of those names.

Consumers need to realize that the World Wide Web is filled with false and deceptive advertising. Anyone can be a victim of fraud unless they do some researching before accepting everything they see on a website as legitimate and true. The individuals filing complaints here are proof of this and what a high price they paid for this lesson.

Ok the two things that have stuck up for the pageant NEVER PUT A NAME. WHY ?? it is fake and is the pageant writting it. THIS PAGEANT IS FAKE FAKE FAKE. read my reports. Those rebutting Miss Brazil are "attacking the messenger" and NOT responding to the message itself.

In any competition, when someone loses legitimately, they do not go through the effort of filing an official complaint, use their true identity, and provide so many details on what they experienced. Sore losers usually focus their attacks on the lack of merit of the winner or any preferential treatment or cheating (like use of steroids in athletics) that they observed or they believed the winner received, true or not.

Miss Brazil Latina was sweet... Her alegations are all true, I don't have one bad thing to say about her, she helped us with our make up and lashes while doing her own, I'm glad she was there and we met! She's a winner not a looser, she's honest and beautiful person inside and out.
We didn't get what we were promissed there! It's a scam everyone knows that, this was not a pageant, they called it Miss Latina WORLD, 5 teens contestants and 13 misses, how many countries are out there? This pageant was supposed to be just like Miss Universe or at least Miss America glamourous, exciting, live performances, televised, everything 1st class! A great experience and like they told us we would treasurer for the rest of our lives! Not what they had, the staff wasn't nice at all, it looked like it was the first time they done this, very very cheap! my mom could do much better!

I am going next year! Not to compete but protest and tell all the girls the truth! I's going to be quite a show Dawn.

First of all, I was made clear by Dawn and I that the party Friday night was optional! Dawn said it and I said it!

Mario was never a judge!or intended to be one, he had told me Dawn invited him to judge and he could not, he told me that on SATURDAY NIGHT! NOT FRIDAY OR BEFORE THAT! I never even know Mario for Pete's sake!

This email sounds like the one Dawn sent to me, so this is either Dawn herself or another person in the pageant!

I gave all in this pageant like all the other ones because Dawn told us it was going to be televised! Great food and great fun in Las Vegas, she forgets that I signed up in June 2006 and I have the first handbook that was posted on forms on her website here is what it says:

"All preparations have been made for the contestants meals to include breakfast, lunch and dinner"
food was pizza 6pm on Sunday

"We are going to have a panel of celebrity judges"
Judges were: Dawn's boyfriend, An clerk from the hotel, clerk's friend he found her on Sunday at 2;30pm few hours before the pageant! boyfriend friend... Do this people look like celebrity to you?
I have an email from the hotel clerk here it says "as a personal favor to my client I agreed to be a judge, she also asked me to find someone else to volunteer as a judge, I called my friend on Sunday 21st at 2:30pm! The judging itself was subjective, you have good cause to pursue legal actions against the pageant"

I been to other pageant before it's not about winning is about participating, making friends, making contacts... I never complained about other pageants in fact would signed up again!

Even if I had won I would still help some of the other girls get their money back!

If I wasn't telling the truth I won't put my name in here, or tell who I am!
I'm not affraid of retaliation Dawn! She hasn't responded to anyone's email but mine because I told her I'm going on TV, why does she care about reputation? She has several complaints with BBB and my comments here isn't the only one against her!

Miss Latina Brazil has complained about everything of the pageant, she didn't say how she acted on the pageant:

1.- She made believe the others contestants that was a requirement to go to her friend's party, when it was a FREE TIME for the contestants to be whit their families or rest for the next day.

2.- During the pageant she was saying that her friend Mario was a judge, making nervous the other contestants.

3.- She was always making bad comments behind other contestants back.

4.- During the rehearsal for the choreography she always criticized the way the coach was teaching when every other contestant were happy whit it.

5.- Breakfast and late lunch was provided on the day of the preliminary, anything EXTRA it was in the contestant expenses. That was clearly explained to the girls that protein bars and fruits should be bring to the rehearsal. On the day of the final event a snack "pizza", was provided for everybody. Previous days before the pageant the contestant were informed about this meal. There were no complaint about the pizza or other situations.

6.- Miss Latina Brazil didn't meant the requirements to be on the top 5, only judges know why, and wait until her pictures are posted on the official page www.misslatina.com and you will be the judge.

7.- To bring a makeup artist was an option, PuertoRico and Kansas brougth their own makeup artist at their own expenses. It wasn't an obligation for the makeup artist to help the others contestants however they did help the girls who request their assistance.

8.- The contestant were told the interview was public speaking to see how the girls express theirselves in front of people. By that time nobody knew who the judges were. The preliminary was video taped for the judges record to review again in private how well the contestants respond to the questions.

9.- No transportation was needed because the rehearsal was performed half block from the hotel.

10.- A group of girls went sightseing and they did have fun and took a lot of pictures, but Miss Latina Brazil was too busy promoting herself telling the girls it was mandatory to go to her welcome party at her friend's restaurant. I guess she was trying to get points from her suppose judge friend "Mario".

11.- The official documents were: contract, medical form, profile and auction form. This documents were provided mandatory by each contestant, this documents are filed in Dawn Rochelle Productions archieves.

12.- It wasn't an obligation to bid on the items that contestants brought. The auction was made for the scholarship of the winner.

13.- People who were sitted on the front row paid for their VIP ticket and were first on the line before the theater was open.

14.- Everybody goes there to win, hoping to be the next Miss Latina World. The parents make comments about their daughters should win or they are going to win same as sibilings, directors or anybody from the audience but the only one who make the decision are the judges and not the organization.

15.- Ms. Dawn Rochelle participated on the orientation, rehearsals and final event.

It is obvious that Miss Latina Brazil is very upset for not getting in the top 5, instead of writting hating and threatening messages which are evil and against the law, she should go to her fashion designer and get her money back on her "one of a kind" gown or tell him/her to add more fabric to the dress because it was short on her ankle.
It's ok for you to call CNN to make a report because this way everybody can see why the judges didn't pick you.
You are an evil looser woman, oh by the way I think you really need a makeup artist and your hair wasn't that great.
