So the overall problem I see is this one. These places hire over trained MSWs,LCSW,MFTs, Doctors,EMDR providers, ect who know very little about addicctive disorders to be in charge of a substance abuse treatment program. These people have to justify their paychecks. So the minute the addict arrives in treatment they want to start probing into " trauma" issues which they are NOT ready to start doing. why? because the pain of engaging those memories is too intense and their sobriety is not stable yet.
So what happens? Over trained idiots like Bob Perrone signs up on ineffective approaches, after all what does he know anyway. He used to work at the VA and surely not dealing with any of this stuff but he looked good enough to be hired as a program director. The whole thing stinks. Credibility wise? their CEO Nick Myers was arrested for being under the influence of drugs while driving with a prostitute in his car; see link.

in a nutshell. This is one of the worse programs I have ever worked at. The Pia Mellody approach obviously did not work on the CEO, and surely is abusive to apply so early on a person's recovery. the De Myers brothers need to make some srious changes or get out of business.
