Over the past years, many unfair business/personal practices have implemented by the management and business office of Dee King trucking.

There has been an issue of concern about the drastic pay rate cut that has been imposed upon drivers.Initially, drivers were paid commensurate with the weight of the load delivered. However as of December 14,2008 drivers were issued a flat rate per load and were never notified of this. When drivers questioned this change or attempted to advocate for the previous pay rate, they were told they didn't have to notify employees about this change and that if they didn't like it they could find another job.

Drivers sometimes are mandated to carry loads higher than recommended by D.O.T. guidelines, as well as being forced to work longer than the 14 hours a day. When drivers questioned management as to the fairness of this practice, they were met with rudeness and employment ultimatums.

Workers are routinely threatened with termination for calling in sick, and are often bullied and intimidated in a multitude of ways by management.

Drivers were issued a letter (May 2008), stating that Dee King, LP was going to direct deposit, and that if employees did not have a bank account it was "extremely important" that they "go and get one" If they needed one just go to First United Bank and apply for one. "If you choose not to do direct deposit then you can pick up your check the following Monday." But if you use direct deposit your check "will be deposited into your assigned account by Saturday."

Ironically, it is the drivers, complied with this mandate have been tremendously inconvenienced and put upon this questionable "company policy". Employees have experienced great hardship as a result of this, often having the paycheck appear and be accessible in their personal accounts, when the paycheck isn't available resulting in over draft fees on all check written and each time debit was used.

When employees have contacted personnel about canceling their direct deposit and start getting their paycheck handed to them personally. They were informed that they could not close out account because Dee King was not writing paper payroll checks any longer.

When employees have contacted the bank to stop direct deposit of payroll and cancel their accounts they were informed that the only person that can cancel the account is Dee King.

Dee King trucking would NOT have what he has today if it were not for his drivers. These drivers need to stand up for their rights and do something. As long as they let Dee King Trucking get away with these actions, they will continue to bully and intimidate each and every driver, while Dee King Trucking sits back with all the money and the drivers will go deeper into debt

Dee King Trucking Amarillo Texas, ripping off employeees

AUTHOR: Ashr121 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 05, 2009

My husband works for Dee King trucking and when he was hired he was making a percentage of what the truck made. After awhile, it started paying a flat rate, and then last year they lowered that flat rate even more, never notifying the drivers.

The thing is these drivers do not know what the truck is making, because they are told it is non of their bussiness. So nobody really knows how much they are being ripped off for.

This company hauls cattle, the driver has to load the cattle at a feed yard. But there are drivers that have to help other drivers load their load. They DO NOT get paid for that extra work.If the driver helps load other trucks and was the first one to load his truck, the trucks he helps load leaves to go unload his truck but that first driver is still at the feed yard, in return doesn't get to haul as many loads, but was still doing his work for Dee King that they are NOT being paid for.
