Defender Direct Protect Your Home Bait and Switch, Phone promises not kept! Indianapolis, Indiana

Called what we thought was ADT for a home alarm system. It was not ADT but a dealer - Protect your Home also known as Defender Direct. The ad looked great and the salesperson quoted us a price and items on the phone. He did not make arrangements for a technician to come to the house.

When the technician came (a really nice guy) he had different stuff that the salesman promised. We had to call his manager and customer service. They were giving us less than what was promised and at a higher price. So, we got some of it settled. I called not only Defender Direct, but ADT, and their parent company Tyco.

As the tech began installation I continued to ask questions. When, again it wasn't what we expected, I told him to stop. He removed what he had done, of course leaving holes in my walls and chipped paint.

It took a long time on hold to get someone to give me a credit for what I had charged for installation. The person tried to talk me into keeping it. When I told him I would go with another company that sent someone out, to begin with, he told me I just said that to be mean.

Do not do anything with this company unless a salesperson comes out first and gives you something in writing.
