I have 3 accounts with dell financial all due on different dates, and all have different account numbers. My payments are setup to be paid by bank draft. I have had payments from my bank take as long as 30 days to be posted to my account. In the mean time I get two or three calls a day from the Indian collection agency demanding and threatening that if i don't pay I will have big problems. My attorney, told me to not even make a payment until dell got my account corrected however I get threatening calls if account is one dy past due. I live in texas, this company can't place a lean on me because I do not own property. Watch out for lying members at the credit office. I have all my check copies. Plus they jack up intrest to exhobitant rates.

#3 Consumer Suggestion
Stop the phone calls

AS per "The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act,"
If you notify them, in writing, to stop all calls to you, and only contact you through the mail, by law they have to stop calling you. I was getting as many as 6 calls a day on my answering machine, till I sent them a "Stop Call" notice, now I get none. If they continue to call, you can file charges against them with the Dept of Consumer Affairs, and they will be fined $1,000.00.
Good Idea for any one dealing with a collection agency is to go on line and get a copy of the law. It's only 11 pages.

Rip Off at Dell

My response:
I have personally gone to the bank and verified that my drafts were sent. The bank sends the drafts 10 working days prior to due date. Same date as on check via 1st class mail, Bank is in Lawton Oklahoma, to Dell. We have traced shipment and had it signed for. It was at dell 8 days before it was every posted. it took another 7 working days before it showed online. Last month
2 checks of the 3 were deposited into someone else's account. We caught that when checks came back. But collection calls contine from INDIA.

My payments are setup to be paid by bank draft. That's your problem!!!

I suggest that your problem is not with Dell but with your bank. I have a DFS account and my payments are never paid late, whether I am paying them over the phone or via USPS. Once I made a payment on a Monday and the payment had been due that previous Saturday.
They did not charge me a late fee because it was due on a weekend and they were closed. You should check with the bank that you have setup to make your payments because I don't believe that it's Dell. Now I like my Dell products but I do agree with you that the interest rates are just too high. Feels like highway robbery.
