Delta airlines Preferred Seats a scam and misrepresentation Georgia / new j
*General Comment: Delta is a rip off
*Consumer Comment: Not Exactly True
Delta airlines charges $39 for preferred seating. There is nothing preferred - they are only seats that their medallion members prefer sitting in, that they get for free. No extra legroom, no priority boarding, but a lot of hassle from the gate agents and customer care. When I called to get my money back they treated me like I was stupid for not understanding I paid $39 for nothing and refused the refund. Preferred seating is a misrepresentation, a scam.

The original commenter had it right. Delta charges a premium for seats that have no additional value. I had the exact same experience as the original commenter. I told Delta, I will never fly them again, and I meant it. I have flown with them for over 30 years, but never again. They are masters of deceipt and ripoff, and I want no part of them.

On Delta flights there are Preferred seats and then there are Economy Comfort seats.
Prefered seats are closer to the front of the plane so you can get off the flight quicker OR are exit row that do have more leg room.
Economy Comfort seats have 4-6 inches of extra leg room and on some planes have plug-ins for you to charge your phone/computer.
The Preferred seats are usually $9.99-29.99 and the Economy Comfort seats are $19.99-39.99
Both Preferred seating and Economy Comfort tickets also come with either Sky Priority boardsing or Zone 1 boarding so you can board earlier and by boarding esarlier you are guarenteed ovher head space for your luggage.
Yes the Delta Medalian Members get the seats for free but we have also spent on average $5,000 to reach the level where we do get the seats without additional fees (average round trip cost $400 X 12 trips (25 flights) = $5000 to get Silver status, $10,000 for Gold Status etc)
