Ordered custom-made kitchen table and chairs - rather expensive. Product to be manufactured in Canada and be shipped to their warehouse. After that, delivery to my house -- product to be at my house within 8-10 weeks of the date the order was placed.

I started calling them approx 9 weeks after order was placed. Eight phone calls were placed in the next 2 weeks -- they refused to call back or to come to the phone except once when I was told that they were "too busy to look up my order." I then went to my credit card company and they refunded my money.

The next day I went to another retailer in the Northern Virginia area to order the same exact product. The manager of that store called the manufacturer in Canada and explained my problem. They were told by the manufacturer that they are not making or delivering any products to the original store because of nonpayment of monies owed to them.

I ordered the set again at a cost of $650 less than Dinettes & Stools (I was told I had been given a huge discount there, HAH HAH), and was told I would have it in 6-7 weeks. A few days later the original store called to say it would be ANOTHER several weeks, in addition to the 13 weeks already past, because the "manufacturer was behind in filling its orders." They are liars and frauds, and most certainly used my substantial down payment to pay for past orders that they owed money on. I am sure they never placed my original order in the first place. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

Question about Other Retailer

AUTHOR: Robin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 18, 2008

Karen,

I'm looking for a dinette set, too, and I'd like to know the name of the second retailer that you ordered your set from. I had some dealings with Dinettes and Stools, too -- I ordered partially-upholstered dinette chairs from them, but the seat cushions started sagging soon after we started using them. The best the store could/would do for us was order another set of seat cushions, which we put on the chairs, but the same thing happened. I gave up.

Thanks for the information.

Robin
