Direct Express/ Comerica bank is a scam, and has scammed thousands out of money. No one is regulating their policies. There aren't any locations anywhere a consumer can visit to straighten out matters. This entity was supposed to be set up for those who could not open a bank account who receive Social Security benefits. This company scammed my brother out of over $4000.00. Calling direct express is the most frustrating thing you could possibly do.

The answers are inconsistant, the fraud department won't even speak with you. The supervisors speak to you as if you are a criminal. But it is your money that pays for their jobs.  I see first hand the trouble they have caused to many. The government in 2013 will require all who do not have an account to be put on direct express. Here we have disabled, the elderly who are receiving the only money they survive on, and some can not articulate what it is they need. Several accounts are being illegally set up by direct express. The people are calling reporting that they never set up direct express.

You cannot cancel direct express unless you visit a local Social Security office. You now have to visit a SSA office to prove identity and then they fax your id to Direct Express who conveniently loses the fax. Also I have  noticed reports of people being sent another card and they can't get their benefits. The trick is the questions they ask, where did you live 10 years ago, have you ever had a morygage? how would a mentally disabled person know that, how would a senior over 60, 70, 80 years old know the answer? Would you want your mother, grandmother, family member being scammed by them? Someone needs to stand up and stop this before they are given all access to people's accounts in 2013. A class action lawsuit would speak volumes to this company! Saying this is not the way  companies should practice business. Fight Back! I have filed complaints with Better Business Bureau, The attorney General and federal reserve.
