Hi, I am reporting Direct Express as a scam company.  First of all, I've worked in banking and it states on the back that this card is FDIC insured, and it isn't.  First of all, when a bank is listed on the card, then that bank should be liable for anything that was lost or stolen, with their card.  There are thousands of people that have these cards and unfortunately, when there are charges on their card that are unauthorized charges, Direct Express never ever gives them their money back.

That is because these cards are pre loaded.  And Social Security has misled people by their tape that they have on their 800 number that states to you about having direct deposit, banking.  And to be honest, it isn't banking at all.  There is a bank on the top right hand corner, that told me that they just produce the plastic that the card is made of.  And I told them that this is against all banking laws.  I've worked in banking for years.

And also, Mastercard has never even heard of Direct Express, so if you have an unauthorized charge on your account, which really isn't an account, they do not help you, nor do they give you your money back if it was stolen.  I was ripped off by Direct Express several times.  They are no more than a telemarketing agency and Comerica Bank is just a cover for Direct Express.  I've done research on this and found that everything on this card is not above board.

Most people think that their social security money is safe, and it is not.  All Direct Express does for you is send out a fraud report and then even if you have absolutely proof, which I had with a police report, they still did not give me my money back.  So, how is this a good banking system or a direct deposit system.  It isn't at all.  Seeing that the Bush Administration took the bid from Direct Express in 1995, and also the Bush Administration, (which is typical) did not do their homework on this one.

Direct Express is a scam organization/company that actually charges poor disabled people by saying, "Well we can't give you your money that was stolen, but we can replace your card.".. Basically, meaning that they have now charged you over 17.95 for a new card.  That is all.  You never, ever even if stolen from, because there is absolutely no security system on these cards.  They are no more than preloaded cards, like gift cards, that can be stolen by anyone.

Now here we have people that are so disabled and bedridden, and cant' do a thing about this. or better yet, they don't even know that these cards are preloaded cards, and they will never get their money back that was stolen.  Direct Express is a telemarketing agency, with Comerica Bank as a cover, making you believe that your money is safely tucked away in the bank, which it is not.  That is illegal to say the least.  That is against all banking laws.  It is also against all credit card Laws, who are supposed to protect the consumer.

And if Mastercard never heard of Direct Express, then who do you go to?? This is the biggest blunder that the Bush Administration has ever made.  Talk about stupidity of Government.  And it seems awfully strange that Comerica Bank is located in Texas, right where Bush lives. You can look it up online and even type into your browser about all of the customers who are angry about Direct Express and calling it the worst scam of all times.. Please get back to me.. Direct Express owes me over 2,000.00 in all.  And never gave me a dime, even with a police report....

President in the year '95

AUTHOR: Darrel - (United States of America)

Please clarify the date you have listed in the following statement:

"Seeing that the Bush Administration took the bid from Direct Express in 1995, and also the Bush Administration, (which is typical) did not do their homework on this one. "

If you actually do mean 1995 you need to remember that Bill Clinton was the President at that time not George Bush (SR or JR).    Now if your talking about 2005 then the accusation against the Bush administration would be justified.

I'm sorry, but sometimes when people make statements that are untrue or misleading about one thing it makes me a bit more skeptical about the rest of their statements.

Thanks,
Darrel

Direct Express Scam

AUTHOR: Direct Express Debit Card - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 03, 2012

I have reported Direct Express to the Department of the Treasure and they didn't even know how this worked with Direct Express debit card.  They honestly thought that comerica Bank which is located in Texas, was the bank holding our money from Social Security.  Also, Mastercard has stated that they have never heard of Direct Express.  This is an update of my original report.  Direct Express is a preloaded card that is not protected and violates every banking law known to man.  They state on the back of the card that they are FDIC insured, but they are not.  Direct Express is no more than a telemarketing service that if you are ripped off, they never help you, nor do they ever give you your money back, ever.  This is Government and the Bush Administration trying to save a few dollars and in the end, it has cost people and will cost the Government and has billions of dollars already, for a lousy two dollars per consumer/disabled persons.  This card is no more than a gift card, that anyone can  use.  Comerica bank takes no responsibility for this, nor does mastercard.  So basically, it must be one of Bush's cronies who took the bid in 1995, and Bush isn't the brightest bulb on the tree, figured that they would get away with this. For all disabled people, please do not get this card, as this company will never give you your money back if stolen. They are making major money by telling people to basically forget the charges and give you another card, which cost the consumer/disabled person 18.00 per card.  So, please for all those who are disabled do not trust this company.  It is not FDIC insured as it states on the back of the card.  Just a reminder for those who need to know the truth..
