2 Young gentleman knock on my door. I am a young home owner myself therefore I think they thought they could pull one over on me. They ask me for beer and pot, I do give them a beer and listen to what they have to say. The meat selection looked decent. Although it's hard to tell when it's frozen. My roommate is on the akins diet so I thought a freezer full of meat- couldn't go wrong.
The meat is disgusting. Let me tell you. I paid $317.00 for s**t. I could buy dog food that taste the same.
After the 1st steak I cooked- i didnt want to judge. So I waited a couple of days and tried another. Just as I expected GROSS!! The texture, the taste, all of it... GROSS!


I called today and the rude lady "Cathy" proclaims that the brochure states I have 3 days to cancel. Well s**t, I didnt know it even came with a brochure. The salesman were more worried about drinking beer and smoking pot than to tell me about the details. So- now I am stuck with a freezer full of food I wouldnt reccommend to the homeless.

Another Disgruntled Consumer: WHERE IS MY MEAT?

Getting help in this matter is not easy. Amber offered an olive branch but how do we contact her when all we get is overworked Cathy?

I have purchased this product before and DID NOT have any problems, so I wanted to ease the economic burden for my 80-year old Grandmother by surprising her with the same meat products that I had. I live in Illinois and granny is in Tennesee. The salesman told me that the meat would be packed in dry ice and shipped overnight. I paid for the shipping by the way!!! I thought great, by the time I get to granny's the meat will have arrived and the Memorial Day BBQ can begin..................was I ever wrong!

The meat was to arrive by FedEx or UPS no later than May 22,2009 and it still is not here as of Saturday the 23rd. The holiday is quickly approaching and like many of the other consumers have stated, I have not received one call-back to the 50 ,messages I have left. Where is my MEAT?

I have receipts by the way too. Amber made it seem like getting help from the company is easy when in fact it is not. In her reply she stated to just let her know how she can help in resolving this matter. How do we contact Amber without getting Cathy all worked up?

If the delivery arrives on Tuesday the 26th, no only is it too late for the FAMILY REUNION, but it also was not shipped "OVERNIGHT" as per the extra charges for S&H. I am PISSED!!!! Everyone should contact the their ATTORNEY GENERAL's OFFICE and file a compliant against this company.

AMBER I am due a 100% refund as my product was never delivered nor shipped as per the additional charges for S&H. Have I been scammed? Yes!

I had a young man by the name of D Moszer that had sold me a variety of meats in several cases from time to time and was so delighted with the flavor, texture and size of each cut of meat. I also know that the young lady that was complaining about the taste of the meat in the complaint I just read, mentioned that she smoked, which inhibits the taste buds ability to fully retrieve the true flavor of any foods. So when she stated the meat tasted like dog food, it was not the meat...as I have enjoyed case after case of Direct USA's selection of meats.....but that her palate has been damaged by the thousands of chemicals in cigarettes and other smoked substances as she stated.

This has to be a joke. They came to your door asking for beer and drugs and you bought something from them? I don't say this much, but you deserve what you got. Who buys something from a door-to-door salesman who they know to be an alcoholic/drug addict, and then doesn't expect to get ripped off?

I am a happy customer and absolutely love the Ribs, I find it appauling that someone would go so far as to bash a company, believe it, it is possible to do an exchange if you are simply not happy, I do when I am not happy I call my sales guy and he takes care of me.....

oh and the meatloaf is tasty..I like Direct USA Food :)

I am also a former employee of DIRECT USA in Arizona. I agree with everything that "KCARIZONA" said in that comment. The short time I was in this company, I was amazed at the illegal drug activity in the warehouse and in the trucks when these guys were working. And yes, the business is a scam. I tried the product out myself, and it was horrible! How can you claim that this stuff is "choice", when it was tough, and shrunk to a small size when cooked. Face it- door to door sales is a "dinosaur" type of business that will soon become extinct. This is the reason why: poor product and misleading info.

I am sorry that you feel as if you were ripped off. I know for a fact that Direct USA tries their hardest to handle all customer complaints in a timely fashion. I am sorry that you are having a problem with the meat you purchased. If you contact coorporate and yo ustill have the meat they will be able to exchange the meat if you still have it. The owner of Direct USA does not want his cusotmers feeling like they got ripped off or scammed. I am sorry that you had a problem with Cathy but I assure you Direct USA wants their cusotmers to be happy so again if you still have the meat I would call and ask for an exchange. They just got an awesome new meat package that I have tried and really like. If yo uare not interested in the beef you can always ask to exchange it for pork, chicken or seafood as well. The chicken is awesome. As far as the comment from the ex-employer I wouldn't let him influence you at all. It says alot about a person's character when they bash people with untruthful lies on a website. Direct USA is an equal opportunity employer and does not descriminate against people. But everyone who drives the vehicles are licensed and insured and all the vehicles have proper permits and licenses for the county and states they are working. Direct USA has stores all over the county and they didn' get that way by scamming people or hiring people that are unstable or unsafe to be around the public. So please disregard the commentsfrom the ex employee and lets try to settle this so you are happy. If yo uneed any help please let me know and I will try my hardest to help you resolve this situation.

Bad Business

I used to work for Direct USA. They hire absolutley ANYONE who walks through their doors looking for work. No backround check is done, and many of these people are drug users, former convicts, and some are actually running from the law. The products the company sells, are soaked in tenderizer, second-rate, and no where even close to the quality they claim. The salesperson gets the food on consignment, and is responsible for approx. $99 a case (A case consists of six smaller boxes). The salespeople are high-pressure- they have to be, the only way they get paid, is if they sold a significant amount of product.

Getting a refund is impossible, getting an exchange is difficult. Don't get me wrong, there a FEW people in the business that are actually honest and decent. But the majority do use drugs, esp. pot, and cannot be trusted. "Cathy" gets so many calls of complaints, that it does not suprise me that she is rude. Still, no excuse for the garbage that goes on. And also, being in law enforcment now, I know that most towns/cities have a solicitation law that requires permits. The next time some person knocks on your door, ask to see that permit, if they have none to show, call the police.

If you read my complaint, I was ripped off by this company too. My husband spoke w/ the same rude lady named "Cathy". We are in the process of trying to get our money back. Did you have any luck?

And to the person that commented to this complaint, Christy said nothing about getting them high. She said they asked for pot, not that she gave them any. You should re-read what she wrote.

Why on earth would anyone openly admit to giving total strangers beer? I ask you this, What do you think would happen to you, if after these 2 gentlemen got impared by the beer that YOU gave them and YOU ALLOWED them to get high, in YOUR home, left and got into an accident and KILLED someone? The bad beef would be the LEAST of your worrys. Next time, think before you give a stranger a beer and let them get high in your home. Please respond.
