We chose Discount Debt Solutions to try to keep from filing bankruptcy. Since choosing Discount Debt to help us to get our credit card debt paid off we have had nothing but trouble with any of our credit card companies. (ie: Discover, Chase, American Express)

American Express - lowered interest rate however is now charging late fees every month
Chase - lowered interest rate however is now charging late fees every month
Discover - increased interet rated and is now charging late fees every month

Because of this our bills have went up continuously instead of down.

Everytime we call discount debt we get told they have to go get our file and then they never return after over 30 minutes. We get on a second phone and try to call again and they say they have already left for the day.

We have requested copies of the acceptance letters from the credit card companies to accept the payments they give them and yet they can't provide them to us.

We filed a Better Business Bureau Report on this company and they told the BBB that "This matter was resolved yesterday before receiving complaint this morning, the client is satisfied and is continuing on the program."

We discontinued the program and now the credit card companies have increased are interest rates to as high as 28%. We have never heard back from Discount Debt.

Continued Lies

Discount Debt continues to LIE on this board. What a miracle it would be for them to actually apologize and say that they were wrong.

We NEVER talked to a BRANDY. What nerve to say she worked on our account.

She says "there was only 1 instance when a Client Services Representative went to get the customers file and accidentally released the call." B.S.! This happened multiple times and I don't consider that a accident. She also says "when she got back to her desk with the file she tried to call the client back ten times." B.S.! She did not. We never got a callback, not even once!

My husband and I were NEVER satisfied with Discount Debt, we didnt cancel without a explanation. We gave all our explanations to the reps we talked to on the phone, everytime we called trying to get help..

After filing a BBB report on them, they still say we were wrong and they weren't, they do not believe the old adage the customer is right. Getting them to ever admit anything would be like getting ice water in hell.

They only care about themselves and taking your money.

Joe/Kelli were in fact clients with us, and they had left a voice mail with their concerns. That day I spoke to Joe and we worked everything out for them, hence the response that was initially given to the BBB. Joe at that time had decided to stay on our program. They even sent in another payment after the complaint. The late fees that they received were as we were still under negotiations with their creditors and at the time of the BBB complaint they were no longer happening. It does take time for a program to get setup and running.

There was 1 instance when a Client Services Representative went to get the customers file and accidentally released the call. When she got back to her desk with the file she tried to call the client back ten times and never got an answer. This did not happen repeatedly. The following day which was July 27, 2004, all matters were resolved and all creditors were contacted.

Joe and Kelli released from the program on September 14, 2004 at their request. When a client cancels, it is explained to the client that their interest rate will go up at the discretion of the creditors. This is not something we can control. Our company is established to get interest rates lowered so that people can get out of debt faster than they would on their own. Joe/Kelli accept that we did this.

I personally worked on their file, with their creditors, and directly with Joe. The last time I spoke to him, he was satisfied and stayed on the program. Our records show the following month of Joe/Kelli calling in to cancel without an explanation given.
