Motivated by their mail flyer I decided to switch my service to DISTRIBUTEL and they asked me to cancel the current service provider (Roger) and advised me that it will take 30 days for cancellation.

They also advised that I do not need a technician since I already have a cable internet service and they will send me the pre-activated modem which I need to plug in and I will be in business. They scheduled the activation date to be one day before my disconnect date (got lucky with that).

On the service activation date ,I plugged in the modem and tried to use it but there is no service and I called their technical support and the answer was they need 10 days to activate the service cause of their internet provider policy (which is actually Roger) so they as a reseller of Rogers internet service compete with their vendor and due to this competition they can not deliver the service on time. The customer service apologized but with no options but to wait for 10 days or cancel the order.

Now I am left with one of two options; either to wait for 10 days without internet or phone service (I have a VOIP phone) or cancel their service and switch back to Roger. I chose the second option since I can wait for 10 days without my digital phone service & internet service.

Now You have to go through the painful process of cancellation with Distributel ; you call and they keep transferring you to the cancellation department which has no ringing tone or waiting message (just silence) so you hang up and keep calling back till you speak to someone who is sad to see you leaving (ironic that you did not even start the service) and he advise that per the contract agreement he can not refund you the initial fees which include one month of service and activation fees ($60).  You explain to him again and again that they failed to deliver the service on the activation date they promised so they can not charge for a service they did not deliver but they will not admit it and they will blame it on Roger and even you that you could not wait for 10 days.

By all means avoid this company and do not give them your credit card.
