These slimeballs are calling MY number on a debt that my daughter owes. I have told them repeatedly not to call my number any longer as I am not the one who owes the debt. They continue to call on a daily basis, sometimes as early as 7 a.m. (and on weekends that early!).

My daughter talked with them once and explained her situation (pregnant and only able to work half time due to complications) and offered to make $20 a month payments to take care of the debt (it's for cell phone services). They told her that was not an acceptable amount and were very rude about it, accused her of lying, etc.

I have since told them repeatedly that they must stop calling MY number as I am not the one with the debt and they laugh at me and tell me they are going to continue, on top of being very nasty. They have accused me of being my daughter; they have been sarcastic with me and been verbally abusive. I have filed a police report for harassment against this company. So far, nothing is helping.

I did receive some very good advice from the Clark Howard web site that I am going to try. He suggests telling the company the next time they call that I am recording the phone call and will record every call i receive from them from this point on, and that per the Fair Credit Collections Act (or whatever it is called), I am telling them for the last time that they are to stop calling me. I think that once they know I am recording their every call, they might stop. I haven't tried it yet, but will be tomorrow when they call.
