Consumer's Original Complaint :
Doba.com sells itself as a business to be a dropship company to stock wholesale priced items for you to sell on ebay or a self owned website.

Doba claims that they have a bunch of vendors that they deal with, The items they sell are all on Overstock.com, The Items doba sells when they go out of stock are also out of stock on overstock.com.

Doba claims to have the lowest wholesale prices they garantee you to get the lowest prices at wholsale cost, All doba's prices are retail that they claim to be wholesale.

After you sign up with them for 7 days a sales person in this case Nathan calls and says you can be apart of the doba team getting free data downloads, push to marketplace for ebay sellers and the lowest garanteed wholesale prices on the internet or we garantee your money back.

Well they offer it to you per year at 140.00
they take out your payment way too early, they wont refund anything back to you, when calling to complain they put you through to ten different people and noone seems to have any answers as to why they took so much money out of your account for a yearly term when your supposed to be monthly or they are supposed to take it out on a certain date.

When you put thier items up for auction and then someone actually purchases them from you, Doba changes thier prices to 50.00 to 100.00 more that what you originally saw it for on thier website.

When you use thier items to sell on another site, after someone buys from you, you go back to doba and get ready to dropship the item and all of a suddan thye are sold out, but 6 days ago they have over 5000 of that item in stock.

Doba makes thier money on scamming ppl to pay for thier monthly service, They give false claims to have the lowest wholesale prices and they claim they are using vendors specifically working with doba BUT what they are really doing is getting thier items from overstock.com

They call Saphire one of their vendors, saphire is actually Overstock.com which they made no claim that thats what they are doing when you first sign up with doba.com

I want my full refund for all your false claims Doba

About Other Websites

Getestore.com, dropshipdesign.com, salehoo, EzDropshippers, Swapselltrade.com etc...

These sites are also rip offs, do your searches on rip off report before giving your money to anyone.

I belonged to all those I listed above, I am still with getestore.com however now I hear they are not renewing your domain names that we have purchased through them.

I contacted the FTC = Federal Trade Comission, The BBB, The Department of Internet Crime & Fraud Division, PayPal, Ebay Trust & Security, SquareTrade and have a lawyer handling my case against doba.

Here is the last entry into the BBB from me about doba.

CASE ID: 22033854
On November 28, 2006, you provided the following information:

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

Mr. Bakly First of all in your first sentence you have said that I only contacted you through email, in your last two sentences you aknowledge that
I have called and spoke to someone about this refund PER your refund policy.

You said I signed up for the special offer on July 28th, My Complaint was a numberous things one of which was that you took money out for payment too early, and after the fact that I requested to be put on a monthly plan .

If my billing started on the 28th my bill would not be due on the 16th of the month. Next The People I have spoke with have been Nathan, Charles and Brian all at the phone number you provided, Asking for you specifically I can never get to you because your employee's say I do not have to forward to you that
they can help me,

Now I suggest you revamp your refund policy because to this day it says that after payment is made your account will still be open to
you until next billing period at which time you have the option to cancel or not, plus it says for annual you can cancel and goto monthly before your next billing cycle, which is what I have requested before this all happened.

Your company has a slogan that you deal with multiple vendors to uphold the LOWEST wholesale price on the internet, however all your prices are way above retail you also call one of your wholesalers Sapphire which is infact Overstock.com

so that falls under the false advertisement category. Your companies integrity is not well around the E-Commerce community especially
with allot of reports from ripoffreport.com and the BBB. Do Not Sit here and call me a liar, you have taped conversations of me calling in and fighting with your represenatives about this whole situation, that is unless you lie about customers being taped while speaking to you.

When will the lies stop, I have emails from your reps saying that they will refund me, I have support emails saying different things according to your refund policy and your annual specials you so have your sales people call the consumer on the sixth day of the trial asking for 280.00.

Not to mention when trusting you to have an item in stock, when actually trying to purchase it from you we find out that it is out of stock and not even
coming from the supplier you have listed but coming from overstock.com, target, walmart, amazon etc...

And as a matter of fact I lost 170.00 due to the fact you had an item up for one price and when I cam back and went to purchase it from you it was 100.00 more than what the original price was that you had it for, I called and spoke to a rep too when this had happened and there was nothing you could do because vendors change thier price from time to time.

Your trust, reputation and integrity of your company is all fals from false wholesalers you call different names to find out they are really walmart, target, amazon, overstock, etc... which you never tell your customer. I spoke to a lawyer and right now with all the people who use your system and other websites you
have up we can all file a class action lawsuit for false advertisement.

So Mr. Bakly I would think again before actually acusing someone of lieing about never asking for a refund or not being right in asking for a refund.

rule number 1 do not lie about your services to your customers and it will go a long way even if you are way over what you claim to be,
rule number 2 never call your customers liers when they have proof to bring to a court of law.

Considering trying online sales using drop and ship. So far, because of ripoffreport.com, I have crossed SMC, getestore, and Doba off my list. Doba gave a number you could contact them with. My wife contacted them and after she asked several questions about extra costs involved, customer service, web support etc, the person on the other end became a bit apprehensive about answering any further questions and actually questioned her why she was asking the questions! The person then referred us to the web site to find any other information for ourselves. Needless to say if we wanted information from a web page we would have not been calling a human being to discuss it.

My opinion; having an online business can't be easy or inexpensive otherwise everyone would be doing it and not complaining. Websites like ripoffreport.com that allows people to trade information on companies policies and how they do business not to mention how they treat their customers when they can't use canned answers coming from a form on their PC are quite useful in helping to make informed decisions on what company to use and what to look for and expect when you do make the decision. Keep on keepin on!
