To Whom It May or May not Concern: " I had my haircut and styled yesterday at your Arrowhead salon at 6:15PM appointment 1/2/08. My experience was shocking and I will not be returning. The only reason I selected your salon over my current stylist was I wanted a change and felt after reading about your company and mission statement I may have a better experience with a seasoned level 4 professional then my same trim person.
"Dolce & Companies Corporation is dedicated to providing superior, customized care through ongoing education and extensive product knowledge. Our main focus is promoting wellness and beauty in every aspect, to each other and our clientele. Through charitable contributions, we strive to improve the world with the dedicated efforts of the entire Dolce Empire. We receive the best training in the industry and above all believe in providing an amazing service, as well as a memorable, life-changing experience". The only "life changing experience I had is that I won't be returning and "memorabl" yes, I will be telling everyone one I know of my experience at your so misrepresented "UPSCALE" salon. When I arrived, it seemed as if I selected the correct salon. The inside was pleasant and I was offered refreshment, which I accepted. While waiting for my stylist, I didn't find many magazines to browse through and there were not any hair stylist magazines for new ideas either. I was then greeted by a staff member (can't remember her name) to have my initial consultation with Tyler (a supposed level 4 stylist and was told on the phone EXCELLENT). I showed her (Tyler) 2 pictures of haircuts and asked if my hair type and face would work, which she answered, "Oh yes". Being that these cuts were shorter than my hair at the time, I also asked her thoughts on how they might look and if they were easy to take care of. I asked of the two which was the easiest to take care of also and her professional suggestion. She state "both would be good", so I selected one since she couldn't make a professional decision. I was then escorted by the staff that greeted me to have my hair shampooed but first she took my overcoat and hung it in the closet. When there, first the water was very cold when applied, then it was fine, she washed my hair. When she went to rinse it the water was so HOT it scalded my scalp and I jumped and told her it was too hot immediately. She then fixed the water, why she couldn't tell is beyond me that it was seaming hot? Then my head was rinsed, conditioned and massaged. Then came the final rinse HOTTER than the last, again, why couldn't she have known that? I got up from the bowel to find out that my shirt was soaked to the middle of my back and dripping down further. She apologized for both the water and the wet shirt and tried to blow dry it with a dryer, which she didn't finish drying. She gave me towel to put behind my back to my waist so I wouldn't feel the cold and wet while having my hair cut. This whole experience was terrible and shocking to be treated as such. Thank goodness I changed before I got there and it was only a t-shirt that got wet. I sat the entire time with the towel behind my back wet, bulky and uncomfortable. Then the haircut which all in all seemed to be fine. The final product was not like the picture and I must say I was a little disappointed. When I mentioned this to the Tyler she stated "your hair isn't the same as hers and thicker so it won't look the same". How she knows this from looking at a picture how that persons hair is beyond me considering she couldn't even style it the same. She made flips in my layers which the picture didn't have. I told her again, it's not even styled the same so I told HER HOW TO FIX IT (who's the professional here?) which she did and it looked a lot better than before. Oh and as far as my $ 350 coat, yes, they couldn't even hang that correctly. It was hung backward with the sleeves inward and half off the hanger. I felt $ 55, level 4 and the treatment received much less the burning of my scalp did not leave a good impression and wasn't even as pleasant as a "Cost Cutter's" haircut I got years and years ago for $ 9.99. I do not complain and it takes a lot for me to do so, and I thought this experience should be communicated to customer service as well as I left a message with Sarah Dolce's director. If I can find your corporate offices, they'll get this email too.

I know several people who work for Dolce Salons and have never seen them treat clientele with anything but the utmost courtesy and respect. To me it sounds like you went in with a bad attitude. The stylist is not responsible for the hot water system or plumbing defects. If your scalp was actually scalded = actually burned (definition, look it up) then you would have a valid complaint and should have left the salon and sought medical treatment. If the water was simply too hot for your liking, yes some people are more sensitive and prefer lukewarm vs normal hot water you should have informed her that you are heat sensitive prior to being shampooed. Is this stylist a mind reader? No. She also would have scalded her own hands while rinsing your hair unless she did the entire shampoo with something other than her hands! Also, your jumping up more than likely caused your shirt to bet wet and not so much as her hosing you down.

In addition the choice is yours on how you would like your hair cut, its not up to the stylist to make a professional choice on your behalf. It's your head. What many people don't understand is that haircuts cannot be copied exactly especially if hair texture/fullness is not equal to the model in the photos. Stylists do the best they can to cut your hair for its texture and to fit your features.

Not sure what you are after with the filing of this complaint other than to ruin a stylists reputation.

Good luck.
