Shopped in store while out of town. When i returned home, noted a week later on my online bank statement that i had been charged doubly for the one transaction.
When i tried to locate the corporate information, it was the most well hidden information and I finally sent an email to them as directed.

When i did not get any response, I kept calling around until i found a number on the internet after much research.

When i called, i was left on hold for over 8 minutes before i had a brief interaction with a not so pleasant operator. I told her what happened and she just plopped me on hold again without any explanation. I am still on hold, now for over 15 minutes, long distance.
when the operator returned, all she could do was take a number for someone to call me back. will see what happens.

I shop there frequently and feel very uncomfortable now with this. Hope i dont end up taking legal recourse to recoup my money. I spend alot of money in dollar tree, so it adds up.

Update to report

AUTHOR: Janet - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 24, 2008

Late in the day a lady contacted me from Dollar Tree and stated they were researching why the debit occurred twice. Money should be refunded within the next week, but I will need to continue to monitor my account as she does not know when or how. She was very pleasant, but somewhat unsure what the process was for sure. Seems if it was a direct debit it has a different correction than if it was a handled as a credit???
Will continue the saga as it unfolds. Anyone can make a mistake, however, the contact information should be plainly published and the phones answered like the huge corporation they are.

Did you keep receipt and/or transaction info

You should have probably gotten some kind of transaction record with this as well as your receipt. If you have any problems with Dollar General then notify your bank of the problem. They can probably work with Dollar General to resolve this if things don't work out with your actions.
