I ordered a large (thin crust) pizza in the first week of January (it was delivered) and noticed right off that it had an "odd" doughy taste. I did not think anything of it, as, well, it tasted pretty good (despite) the doughy background taste. I placed the rest of the pizza (that was not eaten that night) in a ziplock bag and placed it in the refrigerator.

A couple hours later my stomach started feeling a bit odd, I used the "facilities", thought nothing more and went to bed. I woke in the middle of the night with terrible stomach cramps and spent the remainder of the night and early morning hours in & out of the "facilities". Then the vomiting came (another 6 - 8 hours), and all I tasted was the odd doughy taste I mentioned before.

I contacted the store (basically as a heads up) to let them know what happened, and the response I got was basically (not word for word), "so, you want a pizza?", or, "yea, so"? All I was doing was letting them know they were sending out pizza that was making people sick. If he had said, "we are so sorry and we are going to look into the issue", that would have been the end of it; but after his attitude gnawing at me for a day or two, I reported it (on-line) to Dominos Headquarters.

After about a week I received a call from someone, who said he was going to investigate the issue, as (he said), they record all phone conversations, and he was going to contact a 3rd party company to send packaging to me, so I could send the pizza to be tested. He stated that it took awhile to contact them, and then for them to send, receive, and test the pizza, and to receive the test results (this conversation took place late in the 2nd week of January).

The begining of the last week of March, I still had not received any communication from any third party testing company, so I once again re-sent my complaint (with the tracking/case number Dominos gave), and after no response (after about 4 days), re-sent it again.

This time I received a call from someone else, who, in short, said that he was sorry, the other guy I talked to must have forgotten (his words were "dropped the ball"), and that it was now obviously way to late to test the pizza. (I wonder if this "Good Cop - Bad Cop" ploy is used on everyone that has issues with Dominos). I still have over half the pizza (double ziplocked) in my freezer. I feel I was lied to and that from the begining no-one had any intention on following through with my complaint; that this "runaround" is standard operating procedure for Dominos.
In reality; they goofed. They should have looked at the amount of money I have spent at their store in the past, and thought about all the money I would have spent in the future. It would have easily paid for hundreds of tests.
Their loss.

So you didn't go to a doctor, so you don't actually know if it was food poisoning. You are basing your diagnosis of food poisoning on the fact that you are 51 and would know food poisoning. You did not inform the health department of a possible outbreak of food bourne illness. They could have sent a health inspector to the store to see if everything was kosher. You trusted domino's to "Test" the pizza and see. I'm not sure what "test" the pizza place is going to do for you. Either way, from domino's perspective if you were the only complaint about food poisoning from that day they likely will not take you seriously. Food poisoning is not usually an isolated incident, many people will get sick and there woudl be multiple complaints.

The phone call to the pizza company that made and delivered the pizza to me (while I was still ill), was my attempt to let the pizza maker know that they might have an issue that made me sick, and might have made alot of others ill also.
The call (I thought) would have them look into the issue; but if you read my report, that is not what happened. As for something else making me ill, that pizza happened to be the first thing I had had to eat since breakfast that morning.
I am a 51 year old adult, and have been sickend by eating bad food in the past (and have even gone to a hospitals emergency room) for it. And as sick and ill as I was (obviously I would not be able to go to the hospital while sitting on a comode), I would not put myself thru the standaed BS of going to a hospitals emergency room unless I thought I might die.
When I contacted Dominos, they (the man I talked to) said that they were going to test the pizza; that is my mistake for trusting/believing him. Why would I need to contact the Health Dept. if they (Dominos) were taking an active step to look into the issue? Like I said, that is my mistake.

Did you go to the doctor and see if you indeed did have food poisoning? Without this tidbit, its really hard to prove you even had food poisoning. Your illness could have been unrelated to the pizza, that's why if you think you have food poisoning you should go see a doctor about it. Also, in a food poisoning case they are rarely isolated to one person. If this domino's was passing out bad pizza, other people in the community would have been affected. Did you contact the health department and let them know? If its just 1 person and 1 pizza, it would be odd for it to be food poisoning.
