 My husband and I took our car to Done Right Automotive to get a third opinion on what was causing the loud noise we were hearing when driving.  Our first two opinions confirmed one thing that we knew---we needed the front brakes replaced.  However, they differed on what was causing the noise.  The first said it was caused by a bad front caliper and the second said it was from a bad, right front bearing.  We were not charged for an inspection by either of the first two places.

We went to Done Right Automotive on 7-1-13.  We told Shawn we knew we needed front brakes.  We wanted to know what was causing the loud noise.  My husband went into detail stating that it got louder as the speed of the car increased.  He also stated that the noise went away when the wheel was turned to the left.  There was no noise upon braking at all.  Shawn told us we would have to pay $28 plus tax for an inspection.  We agreed and were hoping that this inspection and diagnosis would agree with one of the first two that we had already received. 

After the "inspection" was over (the car was not road tested), Shawn stated that the noise was coming from the front brakes.  My husband questioned Sean further on this as it was also his opinion that the noise was coming from a bad bearing.  Sean stated that the bearings were okay.  I had Sean write this on our receipt ("Bearings are OK.").

We decided to wait for any repairs until we took the car to Toyota on 7-9-13 for a recall involving the seat belts.  We would get their opinion on what was causing the loud noise, since we now had 3 different opinions on the origin of the noise.

On 7-9-13 Toyota determined (free of charge) that the loud noise was coming from a faulty, right, front bearing.  They came to this determination after an inspection which included driving the car.  We decided to have the right front bearing and brakes replaced at Toyota.  Our receipt from Toyota confirms the diagnosis of the noise as a faulty right bearing.

After the car was repaired at Toyota I went back to Done Right to request a refund of the inspection.  Shawn stated that he could not give a refund.  Shawn stated we paid for a brake inspection.  I told him we specifically stated to him when we brought the car in that we  ALREADY KNEW the front brakes needed to be replaced.  We agreed to pay for an inspection to determine the cause of the loud noise we were hearing. I showed him my receipt where he wrote (BEARINGS ARE OK).  I also showed him the invoice from Toyota which stated that the loud noise was coming from a FAULTY RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING.  At this point I requested a call from the owner.

Rick Dunn called me later that same day.  I related to him all of the above and stated I wanted a refund.  He said he would give a credit for an oil change.  After talking it over with my husband and reading the numerous complaints online against Done Right, we decided we did not want to take our car there for ANY service needs.  We just wanted a cash refund since we did not receive an accurate diagnosis from their inspection.  We had to pay cash for the inspection as Done Right does not accept credit cards.
