Doug Morrison K-9 Development dog training fraud Ottawa Internet

We have just been scammed by a fraudulent dog trainer called Doug Morrison K-9 Development.

I got his name from a Yellow Pages Ad (under Pet Training), went to his website http://www.dougmorrisonk-9development.com/ I found several positive testimonials on his website. I emailed him, he called back and we arranged for an assessment interview. He seemed knowledgeable both in our phone conversation and during the assessment interview, so I signed a contract for 8 private lessons called Family Dog Training and gave him a cheque for $400.

We made an appointment for the first lesson with our 2 year old poodle. On the day of the appointment he didn't show up on time and we were out by the time he did come. I contacted him by phone (after two left messages) and we made another appointment. He did show up for that appointment and he gave some useful pointers in that one lesson which we did outside our house. (He is extremely overweight and cannot walk well, which gave me some pause to consider how we would ever do more physically vigorous training (such as going to the park to teach our dog to come which is actually the only lesson we wanted).
The next appointment, Doug did not show, and as in the first appointment did not answer his phone. We began smelling a rat, went on the net and Googled Doug Morrison dog trainer. At this site we found that he has been scamming people all over the province.
