This is the last message I have submitted to DPI via their website contact form, my attempts to leave this message on the Merchants Circle website were unsuccessful after they pulled my previous complaint:

I signed up for your prepaid energy service on 7-2-9. I spoke with "Robert" your friendly sales representative, on 6-30-9 and again on 6-31-9 and 7-1-9 to establish an account so that I could go pay "$99" which was the amount quoted to me on each of those occasions, including the day my account number was issued to me. I was told to go to ACE and "pay $99" and call back with the confirmation number and my electricity would be turned on within 3 to 5 business days. I called yesterday to find out what the status of my service was because it was still not on. I left numerous messages for "Robert" which were never returned, then I found this website and called the number to be told that I still owed $39 before the order would be placed. I was told that "the price went up at the same time your account was created and you have to pay the $39 before we can place the order, and once that is paid it will be 3 to 5 business days for it to be turned on". This is perposterous and illegal. It is fraud. I called again today and left a message for "Robert" which was again not returned. I called again and left a message saying I was interested in the service and got a return call from "Robert" within 5 minutes. As soon as I said that I was Dave ****, he immediately hung up on me. Subsequent messages too him have yet to be returned. This is a blatant act of fraud and theft of my money. If I do not recieve a phone call before 12PM on 7-9-9 and my electricity is not activated or a refund of my $99 is not mailed and POSTMARKED 7-9-9, with a delivery confirmation tracking number supplied to me to verify that it has been mailed, I intend to file a complaint with the PUC, the Texas State Attorney General, the Federal TRade Commission and any other agency I can think of. I will also contact each of the local televsion stations in the DFW area to speak with the consumer fraud departments to get an expose on your fraudulent business practices splashed across as many TV screens as possible. RETURN MY CALLS, TURN ON MY ELECTRICITY OR RETURN MY MONEY IMMEDIATELY! THIS IS YOUR LAST WARNING!

Credit Where Credit Is Due

AUTHOR: Davec - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 16, 2009

I am the person who initialy filed this report, and I have to give, qat this point, credit where credit is due. The report I initialy filed is basically a cut and paste of the email I sent to DPI Energy via their web contact form. By 9:30 the next morning I recieved the following response from them:

Mr. XXXXXXXX, Thank you for your inquiry to dPi Energy. We do apologize for the
unprofessional handling of your situation and the lack of consideration shown to you by the outside sales representative. At this time the
order has been released to establish service at the location of XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Fort Worth, TX. This order should be completed on 7/13/2009, we do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
dPi Energy strives to exceed the expectations of our customers and we appreciate the feedback regarding our sales and customer service
departments. We hope this information has been helpful. Regards, George

Within a few hours I recieved a call from "Robert", the sales agent for DPI with whom I had dealt, who took the time to explain what had happened with regard to the discrepancy in price quote, and managed to convince me that he had not, in fact, hung up on me (he repeated to me the very words I spoke over the phone when I precieved that he had hung up on me), but was in the process of taking off his head set and swithing over to the handset to speak with me. At any rate, he then went on to inform me that his company had placed an expedited order and that my electricity would be turned on that day...not the 13th. He went on to state that a credit for the amount I had paid was in place, in effect my electricity was paid for, but that if I so desired I could ALSO recieve a refund.

My electricity was turned on...several days before the date DPI promised it would be, and I did in fact recieve that credit. I have to admit that, while still skeptical about this company, I am very pleased with the response and subsequent action ands expense that Robert and his comnpany went to to resolve this issue. I am happy, therefore, to give credit where it is due. Thank You Robert, and George at DPI...you have convinced me that you are NOT in fact a rippoff and I withdraw my complaint. - Dave
