I've been reading these reports and complaints for over a year or so and can agree with everyone(my turn to share).....it's all true ds can be a mess and it can teach you alot about yourself. The best and worse of who you are, and it can teach you about the best and worst of companies.

Let me introduce a few common sayings like "Birds of a feather flock together or to quote the scriptures "Bad company corrupts good habits" or how about "water seeks it's own level. It would be impossible to blame managers or owners for the common level of deceit that ds-max and it's subsidiaries take. And the cliche that says there are some good offices and there are some bad ones is like asking someone to eat a plate full of their favorite foods and at the same time mention that one of the items just happens to have a drop of poison in it, it just doesn't fly. Example, at the office where i worked in florida the manager we lets call him T propisitioned one of girls in the office for a thousand dollars. This was quite hurtful to this young lady and extremely tacky.

I remember one of the asst. man. showing everyone her feet which looked so terrible and I mean these feet could curdle milk and exclaim how proud she was that she was destroying her feet and needed surgery from all the walking and how it didn't matter anyway because she would be retiring in 5-10 yrs. I also remember all the lying going on behind the scenes between owners,managers,and asst. man. I'm not talking about lying to reps I'm talking about asst. stealing merchandise, going in the owners files I've seen it all. I was told to lie or say nothing to new hires while the asst. man. did all the lying. Let's just keep it real, at all levels of the Maxx lying is prevalent. Ask yourself can a company who changes it's name to avoid the IRS or lawsuits really be the bastion of integrity that some would claim.Think Enron or any major Tabacco we all know that there businesses were legal but what they do just is'nt right.

Now I'm not saying everything is bad. Since working at DS-Max I've been able to use my door to door experience to snag some great jobs from great companies not because they new anything about DS-Max but because they saw D2D sales experience. And rejection is no longer a problem because of all the rejection I received with DS-max. Plus these companies have reputable names behind them and great industries like cable or satellite and even wireless products.

Oh bye the way one final note for those who use the tired point that 3,4,10% of DS-Max are quote on quote making it and that it will work for those who make it work or this manager or that is making money.......this is pathetic argument. Let's look a little closer. Comcast Cable employs lets say 10,000 people (just guessing,but it doesn't matter the point is valid no matter what the number). The adverage income of it's employess from top to bottom is $28,000 and trust me here it's higher. If we took those same 10,000 Max employees what would it be? hmmm. And what about when you get sick.There are no benifits. (benefits are worth there weight in gold I Love getting my teeth cleaned or a cavity fixed can those same 10,000 Max employees get theirs cleaned. Do the people at the top give a Darn? hmmmmm How about tuition reimburesment or holiday pay (my 7 day cruise for my honeymoon with pay was delightful) My point is that a company must be judged by how all it's employees are doing not a select few at the top. We won't all be pres. or vp's but isn't it nice to know that you can work for a company and make adverage to excellent money have a beautiful adverage to great home nice car you can pay to fix. Or a lovely significant other and heck of a lot less stress enjoying these things. You can never compare Max and the few who love to tell you they made it to a real company where thousands make it and take care of there whole family...there's just no comparison.

PS About the author. I currently work for a comm. company where managers make roughly $ 70k I just started and love it. My former employee of 3yrs was a cable outfit where I adveraged roughly 40k+ for 20-30hrs a week and only had to show up once a week for team meetings. By the way the Cable indust. pays highly for door to door in every state for those seeking employment. I also buy and sell Cars from auctions and rehab homes and sell them for a modest profit. Finally I want to thank Jesus Christ who is my personal savior.
