I bought a used iMac from DV Warehouse March 2013. In April 2013 I traded my mint condition Apple laptop that had only been used for itunes for another iMac. In June 2013 I already started having problems with computer #2.

Computer #1 never would burn CD's and eventually stopped loading most CD's and I just decided to live with it.

In regard to computer #2, I emailed this to DV Warehouse on June 9, 2013:
3 times last week the screen just went gray on it and it quit working. It would not shut down so I had to pull the plug to get it to turn off and re-boot. And 3 times (including 2 times today) when I boot it just shows a box with a question mark.

They told me to reset the pram. That worked for about 6 days.

I sent computer #2 back to them since it was in 90 day warranty on June 12, 2013 and they sent it back reporting that nothing was wrong with it. It still does this to this day. It also started turning to gray stripes after they sent it back to me.

December 6, 2013 the 1st iMac started having issues and I emailed DV Warehouse. I sent DV Warehouse this email on 12-9-2013:
My iMac screen went into sporadic lines and froze. I had to unplug to turn it off and tried rebooting. It rebooted and then made more lines than before in a few minutes and froze again. Any further attempts to reboot failed as the screen would only have part of the apple on it and then the lines appeared and it froze. The last time the whole screen went black with a few white lines and a few tiny spots of color in it.

By phone with DV Warehouse I agreed to them putting a new video card in computer #1 and it ended up costing me almost $600. I sent the computer to DV Warehouse for this repair. They never did anything to the CD player because it was just too expensive. They almost returned it to the wrong address. I settled on only "putting in a new video card".

On September 9, 2014 I emailed this to DV Warehouse:
This machine that had the new video card put in January of this year did the same thing this morning when I went to boot up. Isn't the video card supposed to last longer than this? I never had one go bad before let alone 2 in the same machine. Was there a 1 year warranty on it since it was a new one you put in? Please advice what I should do.

On September 22, 2014 I sent this email to DV Warehouse:
I am shocked that you agreed on the phone that you were putting a new video card in my iMac back in January. I just looked at the info on the repair invoice and searched it online and found the part that you put in is refurbished and for a smaller 24" iMac, not my 27" iMac. And you charged me a higher price than the refurbished ones. There are no new ones available although there are other sites selling for over $150 less than what you charged me. You need to make good for this or I am going to spread the word.

When I bought this computer (and the other iMac from you a few months later) I was under the impression they were only about 2 years old. Does this incorrect part imply they were about 5 years old when I bought them?????????????

Not to mention when I said, "Put a new one in that way I will have the new part warranty." You said, "That's what I was thinking and going to recommend." Now you tell me on the phone there is no part warranty and there never was???? When I bought parts for my other macs and always did the repairs, the parts always came with a 1 year warranty. Why all of a sudden is there no warranty? You also said in our previous emails that you would go over the computer to see if there is anything else wrong and there was nothing. Now you say there must be something else making the card go bad?

I have been asking people I know about reputable computer repair shops and had not found one to date. I wasn't about to put more money into these computers since what started out as good deal ended up costing me, with computers, shipping both computers back and forth and "new video card" was more than buying a brand new iMac.

Fast forward to today, 12-11-15. My daughter found a local computer repair shop that has been honest with her on many things this year. We decided to take computer #1 iMac there. Turns out the "new video card" was the original part that Apple built the iMac with, they can tell by the numbers on it. So I paid DV Warehouse for a new video card and only a little bit of cheap solder. (The local shop explained all the soldering stuff to me and the different processes and what last and what doesn't.) DV Warehouse also removed one of the screws that holds the video card in place and that unbalanced pressure was causing severe overheating. There are also other screws and parts missing that dont't necessarily mean it would make it not work, just make it not work properly. And all the time DV Warehouse was assuring me that their experienced qualified repair staff goes over all the machines withe a fine tooth comb and makes them all excellent condition before shipping out.

My advice to anyone is not to buy anything from DV Warehouse.
