E-Z Movers is one of the hardest (and ugliest) moves I can remember doing. I was at the destination, Florida. The pick-up was in Ohio. After I sent my complaint to them, they waited several weeks and then said essentially, "We will reimburse you nothing. This is your problem." Below is my complaint letter to them: Manager E-Z Movers, Inc. 3400 Oakton St. Skokie, IL 60076 I have had a very bad time with you people . . . I just don't like being treated in this way as a customer. Here are my reasons: 1. I clearly tell -- -- (sales rep.) how I want my items packed. It wasn't done. 2. Invoices you e-mailed me were incomplete and misleading. In the e-mail on Nov. 28, it didn't add up to the $1550 total I payed (at the beginning), and the $600 piano charge was not there. From the "electronic signature" link was another incomplete Invoice: Here it didn't add up correctly either to the $1889 (a different total; was what they told me at delivery - $339 owed), and the piano charge was not there but the $240 packing charge was. And why did you say PBO (packed by owner) after all of the items? I didn't pack anything. You were very slow in clarifying these things. That's sloppy, and "bad business". 3. -- -- (sales rep.) didn't mention other possible charges, but I know you indicated this in the e-mails. He said "the total will be $1550". That's misleading, not transparent. Here are your rates: Dish Box $8.50 Book Box $4.50 Medium Box $5.50 Large Box $6.50 Mirror Box $9.50 Wardrobe Box $17.50 ($5.00 rental) White Paper (10 lbs.) $10.00 Bubble Wrap (per 12 ft. roll) $15.00 Shrink Wrap (per item) $15.00 Tape (per roll) $2.50 Now - You didn't pack my (4) pictures as I told you to, yet you charged me an additional $189 for packing. How is this possible, given the rates above and that all that your men did was to put the pictures in a box and tape it shut? None of my directions were followed; no protective covering for each picture, etc. -- -- (sales rep.) knows about this. He took notes and said he passed this information to the drivers/packers. It wasn't done. THE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS TO CREDIT BACK MY VISA FOR THIS $189 ($339 - $150 extra piano move distance). Given what the packers did and the rates above, there is no way I will believe that what they did is worth $189. 4. And you can't blame this on the proxy in Cleveland. I told you not to pick up Wednesday, only Thursday onward. But you picked up on Wednesday. That made everything harder. The building manager -- -- didn't know anything. He was not a legitimate proxy. I also noted these things on the form I signed at destination. I hope I have made my point. A company should be transparent and well-organized, otherwise I will not use them again.
