EZ Rent-A-Car is a bait and switch rip-off! They are not Better Business Bureau accredited and the Florida Attorney General brought an action against them for overcharging customers and for failing to disclose additional charges! There are HUNDREDS of complaints against this company on file with the BBB and for good reason. My rental went from the quoted $36 a day to $179!!!! Why? Because they charged for MILEAGE??? Who charges for mileage?
Not Hertz, Avis, Alamo, Enterprise, etc.! I could have rented a car from Hertz, Avis, Alamo and Enterprise, four rental cars from companies we’ve all heard of for what it cost me t rent one car from EZ Rent A Car! In the fine print it says "Locals are charged for miles." WTF? Awful company! When I disputed the charge I was told by the rental place at LAX to call customer service to dispute the charge. I was on hold for an hour!
No one ever answered! So I left my name and number and their message systems says someone will call me back the next day….but no one ever did. I also sent an email. No one responded! I called back again and a woman named Portia answers. She says there’s nothing she can do about my being billed $179 instead of $36! I ask to speak to her manager and she says she is the manger of customer service!
The manager of customer service for this company is also the person who answers the phones? I asked her who her supervisor was and she told me she could not tell me their name or she could lose her job! Avoid this company like the plague. I thought I was saving a few dollars compared to all the other companies…..but it ended up costing me for one day what you can lease a car for one month!

Sir. The BBB is, if nothing else, a respository of consumer complaints. There are hundreds of complaints filed with the BBB against this company. Moreover, the BBB website has a "NOTICE" of the governent action taken by the Attorney General against this company. The BBB is information based and in this regard it serves the purpose of giving consumers a place they can turn for information about a business. In addition , the BBB works with companies to resolve consumer disputes. The reality is there are countless complaints about this company all over the internet and the other reality is it takes a lot for the government to get off its butt and prosecute claims, which it did against E Z Rental Cars.

Without regard to the fraud/deception you claim, lets set one thing straight. The BBB "accreditation" program is nothing more than PURE DECEPTION! Any business and I do mean ANY BUSINESS can BUY any phoney BBB "accreditation" they want. The BBB is NOT part of any government body. The BBB has absolutely, positively ZERO powers to do anything. Business BUY these phoney "accreditations" to make themseves look good while scamming customers anyway. The BBB's absolutely PHONEY "accreditation" program is exactly like buying a phoney college degree. The BBB is nothing more than a COMPLETE SCAM!
