If you are thinking about using this company, please take a few minutes to read the final email sent to them (and their reply), which I have added at the bottom.  The merchandise in question was 50 demonstration model cell phones to be distributed to the sales reps that needed to become familiar with them.  Because they were demos, they were free to us but since we never received them, we actually had to purchase replacements.  As of today, they have not been forwarded to us or returned to the company that sent them. Instead Earth Class Mail decided to suspend my account, stall for a week with requests after request for documentation, all of which I provided promptly. During this week, I continued to receive their automated emails every time mail would arrive. I even received one that stated $88 was deducted from my draw-down account for renewal of the monthly service charges.  I took this as a sign that everything would be restored once they got their paperwork in order.  I was wrong.  They have yet to provide me with a straight answer as to why my account was terminated or deliver thousands of dollars worth of merchandise to either my company or the originating company.  Oh, and they refuse to refund the balance of my draw-down account but instead charged me $88 for the monthly service charge but restricted me from even logging into their system two days prior to the date services were to renew. ECM had forwarded many of these exact same shipments prior without a problem.  It was only when we requested multiple packages be consolidated (which would require someone opening everything)that everything disappeared.  If the receiving end (my company) has not received them and the company that sent them has not received them back.  They have given no explanation as to why my account was closed other than the claim that the documents I sent them were "altered".  Are you kidding me? And of course, they refuse to tell me which document they are talking about or how they claim it was altered.  Let me get this straight, Earth Class Mail is not organized enough to route their incoming faxes correctly, but they have a team of document analysts that have determined I'm a scam artist. In case you are wondering what I'm talking about with the documentation, they require that you send them a notarized form that goes to the post office that basically says it's okay for them to receive mail on your behalf. That and copies of two forms of ID. So far, the documentation I have sent them (which still is not sufficient) is: the notarized form for the post office, my Washington drivers license, a temporary California drivers license (the permanent one takes 2-4 weeks to arrive in the mail), my proof of insurance card card, my vehicle registration, and my business license/tax registration certificate. BELOW is the last email from my operations manager to Earth Class Mail's Charlie Baxter (with a bcc: to their operations manager in Seattle) and his reply.  Charlie, You stated that my first documents were not sufficient.    If my account has been closed, then why do I continue to receive emails stating I have received new mail (I just received one an hour ago).  My company specializes in cell phones, specifically blackberry models.  We unlock them for international use and export them to countries in the middle east and asia, where they are not available for purchase on the public market.  You have received packages containing 18 various models of these phones that were all to be used by my sales people as their demonstration phones.   My entire team of sales people arrived in Los Angeles yesterday for meeting between all of our sales people and two reps from RIM (the company that makes blackberry), at which time the phones you are holding were to be distributed.  So now, I have an entire team of sales people that I am going to expect to follow along with a demonstration of a product, without the product. I think not.  I had to cancel this meeting due solely to the action (or inaction) of your company and/or its policy on documentation. Your lack of explanation of "inconsistencies or signs of modification" are vague at best.  The documentation was sufficient enough for a notary public, yet you refuse to accept the 4 or 5 separate documents (not including the one that was NOTARIZED).  What exactly do you consider sufficient documentation? The other administrator on the account is my uncle, James Sinegal (hense this email address).  This is my first attempt at starting a business and he has helped me with just about all of the legal aspects. Jim is the founder of a little company called Costco Wholesale who's corporate office is based in Issaquah.  His has over 20 years worth of business and legal contacts up in Seattle.  I had him make some calls today to his attorneys and they told him we probably have a good civil case against your company.  What your company is doing is considered unjust enrichment.  At the very least, deceptive or negligent business practices. Here is the information I relayed to him and his initial suspicions based on the information I provided.  There were 7 or 8 parcels received at your NY address.  I requested to have them all consolidated and forwarded.  This request, if done before 12noon, is to be done the same day.  After the shipment still had not been sent after day two I called to inquire.  I was told that my account was "randomly" reviewed to see if all the required documentation was on file and that since it was not, the account would be suspended until it was provided.  I sent everything requested, yet your company still refuses to restore my account.  The latest email I received stated it would be completely closed. Again, after speaking with legal council,  we have come to the conclusion that you no longer have our merchandise contained in those packages. These document requirements (which i feel I have more than met) are nothing but a stall tactic while you attempted to locate our missing merchandise. When initially made aware that my account would be suspended until I provided documentation, I made sure to gather the requested documentation by the next day.  I emailed a copy that morning and fedex'd the originals. I sent an email later that day to inquire on the documents I emailed. When I did not receive a reply to my email by the next day I called to inquire on the status of the emailed documents.  I was told by a female representative over the phone that they received my documents and it would take 5 days to review them. 5 days? I didn't understand why it would take so long, but I didn't say anything. Then, a few hours later, I received an email from Charlie Baxter stating my documents had inconsistencies or signs of modification and were unacceptable.  It was at this point that my online account access was restricted.  From then on it has been nothing but vague "its not good enough" responses from your company.  I went to the DMV that day to obtain a California drivers license.  What they gave me was the temporary paper one (the original takes 2-4 weeks to arrive) which I scanned and sent to you along with my vehicle registration as a second id.  What do I receive? Another email from Charlie Baxter stating the exact same thing, inconsistencies or signs of modification. What exactly are these inconsistencies or signs of modification to which he continues to refer? Too many factors support the idea that your company (or more probably a warehouse worker or employee) stole the merchandise.  The contents of those packages was approximately $7500.00.  It is not unreasonable to see how a warehouse worker making $10/hour could walk off the job with a $7500 severance bonus.  Seeing as how your company managed to forward several packages of the same size and shape, from the same origin, without any problem only helps prove the fact that they went missing once they were opened and their contents were discovered.  The fact that I had full access to my online account for two days after I was told it was suspended is quite suspicious, especially when I only learn of this account suspension when I call to find out why $7500 worth of property had not shipped out by the end of the 2nd business day (it was already after 5p in NY)  In fact, I was even able to request two additional forwarding shipments be sent out before my access was actually suspended. Obviously, I will not be doing business with your company any longer, however there are still outstanding issues that need to be addressed. 1. If my account is actually suspended due to insufficient documentation, please specify what documents you claim have been modified or altered and how. 2. If you can not or will not forward me the mail and merchandise that you have already received, where is it and what do you intent to do with it?  If you do not have it, how do you plan to compensate me for it? 3.  I had a credit balance of $207.90 on 9/8 when my account was suspended.  On 9/12, you deducted $88.75 from that balance for service renewal fees.  Obviously, I would like the $88.75 credited back since you are charging me for services you are not providing.  I would like to request that you use the $207.90 to forward any and all other mail or packages received to me at the address you have on file. Please provide me with any tracking numbers. Respectfully, Txxxxxx Hxxxx Acct#XXXXX HERE WAS THE REPLY (all emails after this have been ignored): Txxxxxx, The ID that you sent us was clearly falsified. Our user agreement states that we can and will close your account due to signs of fraud. It also stipulates that items received for such accounts will be returned to the original carrier. No additional support can be provided for this account. Regards, Charlie Baxter Earth Class Mail Local: 971.250.5000 Toll Free: 866.625.6245 Fax: 971.228.2154 http://www.earthclassmail.com/
