Earthlink ripoff!! Billed over $700 for 1 month of SLOW Dial-up! Atlanta Georgia

We had Unlimited Service at over $20 a month for over a year with NO billing problems Then we went ahead and added a second account on Feb 12th 2006 for under $10 a month (earthlink special). Well Well Well... they disconnected service on the first account and then started charging $1 per minute for Dual connections!

IF they think for a MINUTE that their dial up is worth a $1 a minute, they are just ignorant.

We just discovered that on one of their own FAQ pages it is plainly stated: earthlink.net/about/policies/ simuse/ # 7. How will I know how often I've engaged in simultaneous usage? Can I keep track of my usage? Unfortunately, we do not have a system that will allow you to keep track of your own simultaneous usage on a minute-by-minute basis.

WHAT???? If THEY can tell, why can the customer not know until they are billed for these Bogus Charges?

We may be stuck in Marion Oaks, an area of No Other Internet Options, but we will never pay a grotesquely inflated price for sub-par, Unlimited Internet Service!

Our older children do all their classes on the internet from home that issue was even mentioned to the sales rep when we obtained the second line in Feb for additional service from earthlink! It is just TOO SLOW for one dial up line TOOOOOOOO SLLLLLOOOOOOWWWW!

We want this issue completely resolved and have already taken steps in disputing the UNAUTHORIZED THEFT OF FUNDS FROM OUR CC/BANK ACCOUNT ON 14 MARCH 2006 of $564.33 (FIVE HUNDRED SIXTY FOUR DOLLARS AND THIRTY THREE CENTS)! And Earthlin still wants another $146.69!?!?! GET REAL, IF we could get cable, it would not cost us that in a FULL YEAR for Higher Quality Internet service!

What we understood as being $9.95 has cost us DEARLY! OUR HOUSE PAYMENT! Earthlink has TRICKED, LIED, PULLED A FAST ONE HERE! NO internet DIAL UP service will never be worth over $711.00 for a month! NEVER! Earthlink = THIEVING FRAUDULANT COMPANY. When confronted, they said they could do NOTHING!
