Upon arrival at my house on 6/4 the gentleman who was picking me up stood outside talking in circles for 35 minutes before properly parking the truck and beginning the work.
2. During that time two of the men with him were looking me up and down and making inappropriate comments about my looks making me feel very uncomfortable.
3. Once we finally went inside the gentleman who was over everything tried to tell me that they would be re-packing all of my things (thus dragging out the time and the work load).
4. He also informed me that the cubic feet on my estimate was INCREDIBLY low and that he had no idea why the estimate would have been based on such a low figure if my inventory list was up to date, which it was.
5. He spent the next 25 minutes talking to me about how low of a deal he was going to give me, how hard they work, how much they’re going to wrap everything, they’re going to take good care of everything, he was going to help me out with the quote, how they won’t steal anything, they’re going to wrap everything, they work really hard, he tries his best to do what’s best for the customers….etc. (the same things over and over that he already said multiple times outside, thus further dragging out more time.)
6. My job was quoted at $1200 flat (I was supposed to be on a “piggy back” drive) but the gentleman told me that it SHOULD have been quoted at $4,000.
7. I was also told that my delivery date would be 6/7, but was told upon arrival that it actually would take up to 10 days.
8. How does a “piggy back” ride include driving my things elsewhere first and then unloading into a warehouse before sending to the final destination? And why wasn’t this explained to me in the MULTIPLE conversations that I had with Jack (my sales person)?
9. He wrote down some numbers and then came back with a figure more than $2,400 which he told me was NON-NEGOTIABLE.
10. When I didn’t agree with what just happened, they left all my boxes in the kitchen that they had pulled out (so I could barely walk through) and left. But on the way out he started haggling with me over the price again.
11. Afterwards I tried multiple times to contact Jack Clemons who was the sales person I worked with, with no answer or response at all. Not even a suggestion for me to contact customer service.
12. During booking Jack was very unclear in most everything and I had to ask multiple times on some things that get responses.
13. I think that Jack severely altered the cubic feet on my estimate to come to such a low price, in hopes that by the time I found out how much more it would cost that I would not be in a position to change plans.
14. I also felt like the gentleman who showed up at my house was a scam artist and the men working with him were creeps.
