EasyTechy (fake tech support) Internet

They started off by calling me and they told me they have sensed many hackers on my internet at the moment and they needed to check my computer. They said they were going to remotely access my computer so i set up a virtual machine for them to do whatever they wanted to in it. They got me to go to logmein123.com to allow them to remotely connect to my computer.

When they did, they opened event viewer and showed me errors that were normal on a clean copy of windows and they claimed these were viruses. They also said they were "scanning" my computer for viruses when they typed the command "tree" into a command prompt and they after said that there was a lot of viruses on my computer. Also, they tried to find my IP address but fortunately i was running the virtual machine on a proxy.

After this, they sent me to thier website and tried to get me to give them my credit card details to pay for thier service to remove all the "viruses" on my PC. the prices were ridiculous such as over $100 for a one time service which of course i refused to pay for. This caused them to get quite mad but however they did nothing to the virtual machine.

They also have claimed to be partnered with Microsoft as it says on the bottom of their website and they also told me they definitely were when i questioned them in the call.
