Bill Me Later

Bill Me Later, a PayPal company, is a fast, convenient, and secure payment method that lets you buy now and pay later.

*Bill Me Later is subject to credit approval as determined by the lender, WebBank, Salt Lake City, Utah and is available to US residents who are of legal age in their state of residence

v Trust and security. Bill Me Later is a PayPal service and a part of eBay Inc.

v You can choose a payback option: pay now or pay later (interest may apply if paid over time).

v All of your purchases appear on a single monthly statement.

v It's safe. You're covered with "Zero Fraud Liability" protection, which means youre not responsible for unauthorized charges.

v Your payment is secure. When you pay with Bill Me Later, your payment is processed without the seller ever seeing your payment information. The seller receives email notification of your payment.

v Payment is traceable. You can track the status of your payment on your Bill Me Later account details page on paypal.com or on billmelater.com once you register your account.

v Look for Bill Me Later in the listing, and choose Bill Me Later as your payment method when you check out.

Credit card or debit card to a seller with an Internet merchant account

v Payment is convenient and immediate. You pay directly from the listing page or email notification.

v Payment is traceable. You can track the status of your payment using My eBay or your credit card account.

v You may have some liability coverage. Your credit card company may provide a certain level of purchase protection. Contact your credit card company to learn more.

Moneybookers

Moneybookers lets you send payments quickly and securely online using a credit card or bank account.

Pay upon pickup

Along with other allowed payment methods, sellers can also offer this option.

v You have an opportunity to inspect items in person at the time of payment.

v You can coordinate pickup location and time with the seller at a time and place that's convenient for you both. (Be sure to document your payment and proof of delivery.)

v You don't have to pay shipping costs, although some sellers have a surcharge for in-person pickup.

v You can choose any payment method specified in the listing by the seller, including checks, money orders, cash, PayPal, or credit card. Buyer protection varies by payment method.

Escrow

This is recommended for high-priced items. Learn more about using escrow.

v Payment is held by the escrow service until you receive and approve the item.

Note: There have been reports of fraudulent sellers using nonexistent escrow companies. If you use an escrow service other than eBay's recommended escrow partner, do your homework and make sure you verify the reputation and reliability of the company.

Other payment methods

Checks, money orders, and bank wire transfers aren't allowed for most eBay purchases.

But sellers can offer these payment methods for certain items in some categories, including Motors, Capital and Business Equipment, Real Estate, and Adult Only.

v Checks and money orders are traceable to a particular mailing address and provide proof of payment. (While fraud is rare, money is very difficult to recover when it occurs.)

v If you run into a problem before the check is cashed, most banks offer a stop-payment service. Some money order services may also offer this service. 

v For bank transfers, payment is deposited immediately into the seller's account.

Note: Remember that if you pay by check, your seller will wait for the funds to clear before shipping your item.
