Echostar Dishnetwork Undertrained and abusive work environment ripoff Verona Virginia

My story is as follows.

I started with Echostar 4 months ago as a install technician. I had no previous experience but was told that you didnt need any. We spent hours upon hours training in the class room going over book related nonsense. We spent minimal time out in the field maybe 4 weeks.

During this training period we ended up being a goffer (fetching tools). We spent 2 weeks with the quality technician and after that we were surprisingly turned loose on our own. There were several of use no where ready to be on our own. As suggested by the quality instuctor. Ignoring his suggestion we were on our own lost. Really not able to give our customers quality installs.

On top of this the new hires had not yet passed our FSS 1 training(Which is required)and we were installing dishs without our certification. When we did take our test we had all the resources available including our trainer which to me was cheating the system. I just resigned after finding out I might be terminated due to lack of job performance.

Due to lack of good supervision and training!(I received this info from employees not supervision). I was afraid of being fired and I've never been fired from a job. Abusive language also played a big part in a very uncomfortable work environment. There were also a few of us owed money for travel to Ashland, Va which we never received after 3 months.

We also saved the company alot of money delivering 20 receivers and bringing back alot of tools. I'm writting this letter just to let people know just how Echostar does business with its employees. Its all about a buck here, not the customer or employees. So don't be surprised if you get poor customer service or the runaround on your services. Employees are running scared and doing the best they can with the training and resources they have!
