Edgestar Compact Appliances Portable Airconditioners poor quality and retailer own brand so of no help Austin Texas

I have owned an edgestar portable airconditioner for two years during which time I have used it for approximately a total of 2 months of days. At this point it looks like the cntrifugal fan and sensor for water over flow are broken. Of course it is out of warrenty. These are obviously poor quality products. They were able to tell me immediately what the problem was and said that my machine is old !!!. Their expected product life is 2 months of usage!!! And because it was out of warrenty there wasn't much they could do. They could give me some replacement parts - but had no service people to recommend.

This machine cost $380 and they just felt it was okay that it had lasted this long because that is how machines are made today.

When I called Compact Appliances they said there were generally not problems with the machine - however they own the company so how can you possibly trust them and the problem was outlined too quickly for me to believe that this doesn;'t happen often.

Do not buy edgestar portable air conditioners and do not buy from Compact appliances. I am out $380 as their is no practical solution for my problem and they don't care.
