We are another disallusioned, beat up buyer of property at the Acqua Flamingos. We purchased a loft in 2006-and included the basement as part of the purchase. We paid the costs over 24 months and were done our payments in Feb. 08. We were told we had to buy a balcony for $7000 and then told it was included in the contract. We paid closing costs, breaking the trust costs, furniture costs for the lounge, pool area, and 6 months maintenance. Then we started getting bills, late charges, charges for the stairs to our basement (if it is even there), the balcony charge and then last week a charge of $25,000 . Throughout this ordeal we have not been able to see the condo, we tried to view it in March 07 but were not allowed on the grounds, however we are expected to pay strata fees for a property we cannot even view. We have been told our name is now on a list...hit list I guess and are not allowed on the property. It is exhausting, and no matter how we try to sort this out with his lawyer, accountant (who seem to be changing regularly) and you name it the charges seem to be growing in leaps and bounds. There is no HOA so the maintenance fees have not to this day been accounted for-it seems Eduardo holds all the cards. You either pay these fees or else you do not get your condo. Those that have closed have had to install their own lights, redo floors, kitchens etc. It is a poor way to treat people. We have purchase many properties in the past and have never seen this type of tactics-the belief that a contract is a contract does not seem to apply here. Those who had the feeling that Mexico is a good place to invest need to reconsider.
